Goosebumps: The Vanishing gets spooky teaser and January 2025 release on Disney+

As a gamer who’s spent countless hours delving into the depths of R.L. Stine’s chilling literary universe and survived more than one sleepless night due to his spine-tingling tales, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming season of Goosebumps: The Vanishing!

In February 2024, the spine-tingling anthology series “Goosebumps” was given a green light for another season, featuring new characters and storylines. Exciting news! We’ve recently found out that this second season is named “Goosebumps: The Vanishing” and is set to debut on both Disney+ and Hulu around the beginning of next year. Mark your calendars as all eight episodes of this terrifying series will be available starting Friday, January 10, 2025.

The “Goosebumps” series, co-developed by Rob Letterman and Nicholas Stoller, is a chilling supernatural horror production under Sony Pictures Television. Notably, it’s adapted from R.L. Stine’s renowned horror book series, which has consistently ranked among the bestselling book series worldwide.

The inaugural season debuted on Disney+ and Hulu in October 2023, and it was applauded by both critics and audiences for its compelling narrative, stunning visuals, captivating cinematography, engaging writing, and impressive acting. The series centered around a group of high school students joining forces to unravel the mystery behind a teenager’s untimely death that occurred three decades prior.

In the second season of “Goosebumps: The Vanishing”, a fresh, intriguing mystery unfolds. The narrative revolves around fraternal twins Cece and Devin Brewer, who are summoned to spend their summer with their recently separated father in Gravesend, Brooklyn. Upon their arrival, they stumble upon a looming danger and uncover hidden secrets. They, along with their three companions, are drawn into a mystery surrounding four teenagers who inexplicably disappeared in 1994.

In this production, Jayden Bartels (from Side Hustle) and Sam McCarthy (known for Dead to Me and Condor) take on the characters of Cece and Devin Brewer respectively. David Schwimmer, a nominee for an Emmy Award, famous for his role as Ross Geller in the popular sitcom Friends, portrays Anthony Brewer, the father of Cece and Devin. This character is described as a former professor of botany who has delved deeply into science and mystery.

In addition to the leading actress Ana Ortiz as Jen, we have Elijah M. Cooper portraying CJ, Galilea La Salvia playing Frankie, and Francesca Noel in the role of Alex. The group that appears frequently includes Arjun Athalye (Sameer), Eloise Payet (Hannah), Christopher Paul Richards (Matty), Kyra Tantao (Nicole), Stony Blyden (Trey), and Sakina Jaffrey (Ramona).

The second season is rumored to draw inspiration from several well-known novels in the Goosebumps book series, including titles like “Stay Out of the Basement,” “The Haunted Car,” “Monster Blood,” “The Girl Who Cried Monster,” “The Ghost Next Door,” “Welcome to Camp Nightmare” and others.

I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming season of Goosebumps, set to premiere on both Disney+ and Hulu next year! Are you planning to tune in and join me for this spooky ride too?
