Google has been gradually expanding its gaming ecosystem, and now it has announced that every Android game will be available on PC via Google Play Games by default. Officially launched on PC on July 15, 2023, following the beta release in January 2022, Google is making significant expansion efforts, offering exclusive rewards, and improving the overall gameplay experience.
Google Play Games is getting a major upgrade with all Android titles now available on PC
Google plans to offer mobile games directly on computers by default, giving developers the option to withdraw at any time. This move aims to boost the visibility of mobile game developers, allowing you to play popular mobile games such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Ludo King, and Clash of Clans on your PC without needing third-party software.

In a blog post by Aurash Mahbod, the VP and GM of Games on Google Play, Google introduced a playability badge for Android games, “indicating their compatibility with PC.” This categorizes games as optimized, playable, or untested.
He explained how they worked, with optimized meaning, “a game meets all of our quality standards for a great gaming experience,” and playable, meaning, “the game meets the minimum requirements to play well on a PC.” And an untested indicates that the game has not been reviewed yet, but may still work.
Google is working with PC OEMs to pre-install Play Games on new devices this year
The update expands the PC library with games, like Train Sim, Pet Shop Fever: Animal Hotel, Lords Mobile, and more, now playable on Google Play Games. Moreover, the full Google Play Games on PC catalog is available on AMD laptops and desktops. Google is partnering with PC OEMs to pre-install Play Games on new devices this year.

Beyond Android games, the company is also investing in native PC games, with over 50 titles already available. Mr. Mahbod stated, “we’re making even bigger investments in our PC gaming platform.” The company is also introducing multi-account and multi-instance support this month.
These moves are game-changers for Android gaming. Google is also opening up the program for all native PC games this year, with PC titles like DREDGE and TABS Mobile available on Google Play. Meanwhile, more PC games such as Disco Elysium, will be available on Android devices too.
