As a long-time fan of Richard Madeley, I find his candidness about his marriage to Judy Finnegan truly refreshing. It’s not every day we hear a public figure talk so openly about their personal life, especially when it comes to something as intimate as sleeping arrangements.
In a frank disclosure, Richard Madeley of “Good Morning Britain” openly discussed aspects of his marriage with Judy Finnegan.
As a devoted fan, I must share this intriguing tidbit: The beloved journalist and presenter, much like myself who values a good night’s rest, shares the same sentiment with his wife of 38 years. During his stint on the ITV breakfast show, where he begins his day as early as 6am, this media icon prefers to maintain peace for his partner by occasionally retreating to separate bedrooms. Quite a relatable move, don’t you think?
He mentioned during an interview with Kate Thornton on her “White Wine Question Time” podcast that when he’s working on “Good Morning Britain,” he sleeps in a different bedroom instead of the main one.

“I do probably sleep a little bit better in bed with Judy but I’m okay on my own,” he continued.
When discussing the possibility of disturbing Judy’s sleeping pattern, Madeley expressed, “I wouldn’t dream of interfering with Judy in this regard. Beyond other considerations, Judy’s sleep is something that should be left undisturbed.
In 1986, Madeley and Finnigan got married and welcomed their kids, Jack and Chloe, into their family. They gained notoriety as the inaugural hosts of ITV’s “This Morning” show, which debuted in 1988.

As a gamer, I might say something like this in response to Amol Rajan’s comments about sleeping better with his wife: “On our show, we both wake up at the same time, unlike Amol who sleeps separately from his partner. Judy and I have our morning routine together.
We’d set our alarm, rise together, put on our jeans, hop into the car, and head to Liverpool for the performance. After the show, we’d find ourselves in London, continuing our drive towards Southbank. So, we synchronized our sleep schedule, rising and retiring at the same time.
Good Morning Britain airs live from 6am weekdays on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
