As a seasoned viewer of Good Morning Britain, I must say that the recent addition of Trisha Goddard to the show has been a breath of fresh air. With her extensive background in television and her undeniable charisma, she truly knows what she’s talking about.

On Tuesday, British viewers who tune in to Good Morning Britain were delighted to see Trisha Goddard back hosting the program, as she’s been absent for 15 years. However, they’ve expressed criticism towards Richard Madeley, suggesting that it might be time for him to step down and make way for someone new.

Previously reigning on morning television at age 66, she’s now set to co-host the ITV program not once but twice, gently reacquainting herself with the role of presenter.

From 1998 to 2004, Trisha frequently appeared as a presenter on ITV, followed by her shift to Channel 5, where she presented from 2004 until 2010.

She then ran on ITV from 1998 to 2004, then on Channel 5 from 2004 to 2010.

Now that she came back, viewers simply couldn’t contain their excitement, praising her as ‘rejuvenating’ and expressing delight at having such an ‘excellent’ host on the program.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) to express their joy at her appearance, viewers quipped:

‘Trisha Goddard is a terrific presenter.’

‘Lovely to see Trisha Goddard #GMB.’

‘Can’t believe Trisha is on #gmb today. Brilliant.’

‘Nice to see Trisha NOT wearing a wig #GMB.’

‘Triissshhhaaaa! #GMB.’

“I enjoy having Trisha on Good Morning Britain. Perhaps she could become a permanent co-host alongside Susanna Reid? I find the current male lineup less appealing; let’s make Trisha a regular fixture!” #gmb

‘Shaky start from Trisha on #GMB but she’s settled in splendidly. Best breakfast show on TV.’

1. “I’d like to mention that it’s great to have Trisha on the show. She really has a knack for the subject matter. Perhaps consider replacing Kate Garraway. #GMB” (This version maintains the original sentiment while using more polite and professional language.)

‘Love Trisha, hope she’s back on as a regular #GMB.’

‘I am loving Trisha on #GMBPlease can she stay forever.’

Meanwhile, others who were unimpressed with Richard, 68, added:

I can’t help but feel disappointed that Kate has been replaced on Good Morning Britain by Trisha. However, it’s Richard Madeley’s turn in the spotlight that needs reconsideration. #GMB #GoodMorningBritain

Why does it seem like Madeley is invading Trisha’s personal space so much? It looks like he might be taking up a lot of room, perhaps spreading out excessively even under the desk. #GMB

‘I love how Trisha is talking over Richard as finally he’s met his match! #GMB

‘I find when I see Richard Madeley I break into uncontrollable swearing #gmb.’

Following my recent appearance on the show, I’ve been humbled by an outpouring of compassion and support from viewers, as I shared my personal journey living with a terminal cancer diagnosis.

She joined  hosts Kate Garraway and Ed Balls, the broadcaster explained why she initially kept her illness a secret, before insisting that she didn’t want to be a ‘poster girl’ for cancer.

Previously known talk show host disclosed in February that her recurrent, incurable cancer was detected in her hip area post an accidental fall, and she’s currently receiving treatments aimed at extending her life.

Trisha explained that she chose not to disclose her cancer diagnosis because she was struggling to cope with it personally, and at the same time, she wanted to focus on her job and maintain her identity.

In collaboration with CNN and my team, it turned out that they were unaware of my baldness and numbness in my legs due to treatments. For approximately four and a half months, I underwent chemotherapy every week.

1. Trisha shared with Hello! that she felt relieved after finally revealing the secret she’d been carrying since receiving the news 19 months prior.

As someone who has struggled with dishonesty in the past, I can attest to the fact that after a year and a half, maintaining a secret becomes more of a weight than any other burden. The constant need to fabricate stories and deceive people takes a toll on one’s mental well-being and peace of mind. It’s exhausting and draining, and I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.

Previously known talk-show host expressed a desire not to appear weak or fragile to people around her, and instead chose to continue with activities that brought her joy.

Dealing with this ailment won’t vanish, which brings on sadness and apprehension. Yet, it’s essential to continue finding joy in the activities I’ve always cherished.

Previously, Trisha disclosed that she came very close to death after falling in 2022. Later on, they found cancer in her.

After fracturing her thigh bone, she experienced a state of severe shock and needed a walking aid (a frame) as well as crutches for support after undergoing emergency surgery.

Trisha confessed that she wasn’t fully recovered yet, after her nearly fatal accident which caused her intense, ongoing discomfort.

She took to Instagram where she detailed her terrifying ordeal, revealing how she’d been rushed to casualty after falling down the stairs.

The Talk TV broadcaster told her fans: ‘I’ve just had 2 of the toughest weeks… One where I was rushed to hospital for an emergency operation, literally roaring in pain.

‘But I’m still alive… just. I spent a week in hospital, was discharged on the Friday and with the help of Mother Morphine, did my 3 hour @talktv shows on Saturday and Sunday. Oh, and filmed a piece for @60minutes9 midweek too!’
