As a seasoned film enthusiast with decades of experiencing watching movies and analyzing performances, I must say I was taken aback by this year’s Golden Globe nominations. The snubbing of Jennifer Lopez for her exceptional work in “Unstoppable” and Meryl Streep for her captivating portrayal in “Only Murders In The Building” is, in my humble opinion, a testament to the unpredictability of the Hollywood landscape.
Jennifer Lopez and Meryl Streep were not chosen as nominees for this year’s 83rd Golden Globe Awards, along with other popular stars.
Lopez’s acting in the sports biopic “Unstoppable” went unnoticed, just like Meryl Streep’s regular appearance on the successful show “Only Murders In The Building”.
It was surprising that directors Jon M. Chu and Ridley Scott weren’t nominated in the Best Director – Motion Picture category, given the massive box office success of their films “Wicked” and “Gladiator II”.
The nominees for the 2025 event were unveiled on Monday morning, featuring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who were both nominated for their roles in the movie adaptation of Wicked.
The 2025 Golden Globes will occur on January 7 and with comedienne Nikki Glaser serving as host.
