Gold FM radio legends Jonesy and Amanda ‘jumping ship’ to another Sydney station as their potential replacement is revealed

As a lifestyle aficionado, I’m hearing some intriguing whispers about Gold FM’s beloved duo, Amanda Keller and Brendan Jones, potentially considering a switch to a competing broadcasting platform. It’s an exciting time in the industry as we all eagerly wait to see if these talented broadcasters will shake things up with their unique chemistry on a new network.

For two decades, the duo has been serving up morning shows on Sydney’s 101.7 station (previously known as WSFM). Recently, there are whispers that they might be considering a move to Triple M.

As per the latest updates, Gold’s management is considering moving the widely-appreciated Jonesy and Amanda program to the evening drive-time segment.

Taking their current spot would be Melbourne based Gold star Christian O’Connell.

According to The Australian’s Media Diary, published on Monday, it is rumored that Jonesy and Amanda are engaged in discussions with Triple M due to potential salary reductions for them.

2025’s third radio ratings survey dealt a heavy blow to the Sydney breakfast team, but here I am, a die-hard fan, eagerly pointing out that Keller, 63, and Jones, 57, could be just what Triple M needs!

In the recent surveys, the team consisting of Beau Ryan, Aaron ‘Woodsy’ Woods, and Cat Lynch experienced a decrease of 1.5% in survey two, followed by a further decline of 1.5% in the most recent one, resulting in a total loss of 3% of their market share.

This puts them with a 4.4 market share from a previous 5.9.

Simultaneously, Jonesy and Amanda ended up in third position in the survey, holding a 9.3% audience share. Ben Fordham of 2GB took the runner-up spot.

During the survey, Jonesy and Amanda came in third, having a 9.3% audience share. Ben Fordham from 2GB was second.

Or simply: In the survey, Jonesy and Amanda placed third with a 9.3% audience share; Ben Fordham of 2GB ranked second.

Following the continued success of the much-loved Kyle & Jackie O Show, I’m thrilled to share that it once again claimed the top spot in Sydney’s FM breakfast slot. This time, we’ve managed to increase our market share by 0.2, reaching an impressive 12.5!

Despite another minor dip in their performance in Melbourne, their market share dropped by 0.7 points to 5.1%, a decrease from the growth they saw in the previous survey.

In a continuous dispute, Sydney personalities Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson find themselves entangled ever since their substantial city expansion resulted in the dismissal of former KIIS FM stars Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins and Lauren Phillips.

On April 29, 2024, Sandilands and Henderson transported The Kyle & Jackie O Show to Melbourne as part of a massive expansion agreement worth millions.

The move triggered the axing of Hawkins and Phillips own KIIS FM breakfast show.

Sandilands and Henderson have since struggled to capture the Melbourne market.

This year, Sandilands pledged to tone down the explicit sexual content on his KIIS FM radio show in November, aiming to attract a wider audience in Melbourne.

To put it simply, the residents of Brisbane have cautiously adopted the program, as the popular morning show ‘Hour of Power’ ended this survey period with a 11% listener share.

The result puts them behind the Nova, B105 and Triple M in the same slot.
