Gok Wan has sparked speculation he has reunited with his Hollyoaks star ex-boyfriend David Ames.
The fashion guru, 51, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a cosy snap with David, 42.
Okay, so Gok and his ex, Sema, were together for about four years – from 2014 to 2018. He recently shared a cute throwback photo of her on social media, captioning it with a playful ‘Look at his silly face @semadivad’ – it’s sweet to see they can still share a laugh!
David joined Hollyoaks in 2023 to 2024 as the headmaster of Hollyoaks High, Carter Shepherd.
The actor is best known for his role as Dominic Copeland in the medical drama Holby City.
David seemed to confirm rumors of a renewed romance by writing ‘Love you x’ – further suggesting he and his partner are back together.
Carol Vorderman wrote in the comments: ‘My loves’, while Simon King added: ‘Miss you’.
A spokesperson for Gok Wan confirmed they are simply friends. Daily Mail has reached out to David’s representative for a statement.
Gok recently shared on Instagram that he’s made a big lifestyle change, quitting both smoking and drinking.
He wrote: ‘8 weeks ago today I stopped drinking alcohol and quit fags.
I didn’t really set any goals, and I’m not making a firm commitment to never drink again, but honestly, I’m doing well and don’t even crave it right now. I am determined to quit smoking for good, and I’m feeling pretty good about that!
Gok has talked about finding it hard to balance work and his personal life, and how prioritizing his career has made it challenging to maintain lasting romantic relationships.
He mentioned in 2017 to The Sun that he planned to get married someday, simply because he wanted to have a wedding.
I don’t know if I’ll get married because I feel pressured, or if it will happen because I’m in love. I honestly have no idea what the future holds in that regard.
I’m honestly terrible at relationships. I firmly believe that if you’re not skilled at something, it’s best to avoid it altogether.
Honestly, I’m just so focused on him that if anyone else tries to come into the picture, it just… doesn’t really register. I don’t even feel like anything’s missing, you know? He’s just… enough. I don’t need anyone else, and I definitely don’t miss anyone. It’s all about him, always.
Daily Mail has contacted Gok’s representative for comment.
