Gogglebox star looks completely unrecognisable as she returns from university to reunite with her famous sister
As a seasoned shopper who has faced more than her fair share of Christmas substitute horror stories, I must say that Scarlett’s tale of salted caramel profiteroles being swapped for eclairs and rosemary replaced with parsley is just another drop in the ocean.
Previously known Gogglebox personality, Ava-Grace Moffatt, appeared dramatically transformed upon her return from university, sparking a sense of unfamiliarity when she met up with her well-known sibling Scarlett on Tuesday.
Initially, the reality TV personality became well-known when she was just a kid on a widely-watched program. Now, almost a full decade has passed, and she’s fully grown.
34-year-old Scarlett, famously known as the winner of ‘I’m A Celeb’, shared a quick video on her Instagram stories, capturing them engaged in some final-hour Christmas shopping.
She was happy that her sister had returned from university for Christmas, and they were spending some delightful, seasonal moments together.
The Moffatts became part of the Gogglebox team back in 2014, during the third season. Scarlett, who’s known for her bold character, soon gained popularity among viewers.
At first, Scarlett only appeared with her parents, Mark and Betty. However, in the seventh series, she was also accompanied by a new character named Ava.
In series eight, as The Mirror reported, Luke Crodden, who was her boyfriend at the time, also became a part of it.
After their time on Gogglebox, Ava and the family traveled to Australia in 2016, joining Scarlett who was hosting the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! spin-off, following her victory on the main show.
In the year 2019, they were featured on Channel Four’s documentary series “The Tribe Next Door,” which showcased them residing among the Himba community in a Namibian tribal village. Remarkably, their living quarters mirrored their parents’ house in Newcastle.
After a chaotic Christmas morning filled with unexpected swaps in my Click & Collect order, I couldn’t wait to escape the madness and immerse myself in some quality sister time.
On Christmas Eve, the television host posted a video for her followers, revealing the special holiday dishes her family usually enjoys, but which had run out at the store, prompting her to find suitable alternatives instead.
Gratefully, Scarlett found humor in the situation, chuckling as she recounted each of her replacements.
She mentioned that substitutes can be quite unpredictable. This morning, she and her son Jude fetched their pre-ordered items at 7:30 am, and they found that there were a few changes in the ordered items, or ‘substitutes’.
It’s all good, dear. With you looking like an elf and me feeling jolly, nothing bothers me. What are some alternatives?
I have a slight change in your order: instead of the salted caramel profiterole stack, we’re offering two eclairs instead. Regarding your rosemary for cocktails, we’ve substituted it with parsley. And for your cauliflower cheese dish, we’ll serve potato ‘dolphin’ shapes instead.
Laughing, Scarlett added: ‘Honestly I’m going to have a look because some of them are hilarious.
I had sort of anticipated that they would include a fake fur throw among the pigs-in-blankets, and instead of explaining, they simply said ‘enjoy, it’s a blanket’. Frankly, I found it quite amusing.
Scarlett invited her audience to post their unique, alternate tales for a spooky Christmas, and they certainly delivered a multitude of them.
One fan wrote: ‘Rosemary – dill , after eights -a mint aero and personal fave croissants – mars bars wtf’.
‘One Christmas, Tesco replaced a beef joint with a pack of meatballs! I had to go shopping on Christmas Eve again due to the mix-up.’
Instead of doughnuts, I opted for onion rings as a surprise dessert. When the children inquired about the pudding, their reaction wasn’t too thrilled when I revealed it was onion rings!
‘I got a win the other day- giant Yorkshire pudding substituted for £25 of gammon but was only charged 31p!!! My lucky day.’
