Gogglebox star Baasit Siddiqui shares rare pictures with his wife Melissa as the couple celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary

Baasit Siddiqui recently celebrated his 13th wedding anniversary with his wife, Melissa, sharing a collection of personal photos on Instagram.

Baasit has been a familiar face on Gogglebox since the very beginning in 2013, appearing alongside his brothers Umar and Raza, and their father, Sid.

I was so touched when I heard that Melissa and her partner have been together for an incredible 16 and a half years! Melissa actually said she just couldn’t imagine going through life without them, and honestly, it was the sweetest thing ever. They’re truly meant to be!

Baasit and Melissa seemed incredibly happy in a selfie they took while riding on a train.

The photos also captured important milestones for the couple, like completing their first marathon and getting married.

She celebrated her 13th wedding anniversary with a heartfelt message, writing: ‘Happy Anniversary to the very best! We’ve been together for 16 and a half years, and I can’t imagine life without you. Love you!’

Bassit and Melisa often share updates about their relationship online, and recently announced on Instagram that they’ll be participating in the London Marathon.

He shared that running the London Marathon was already a dream come true, but this time it was even more meaningful because he got to do it with his wife. He wrote, ‘To share this experience with my wife is very special!’

Baasit explained that his wife started running in January of last year, and they decided to raise money for the Mind charity while doing so.

Let me tell you a little about what I do when I’m not on Gogglebox! For more than a decade, I was a full-time teacher, and for the last five years, I’ve been dedicated to working *with* the education system – supporting teachers, kids, and families. It’s something I’m really passionate about!

‘One thing that continues to be highlighted in all my work is the growing mental health crisis.

Mind’s work in fighting the stigma around mental health is incredibly vital, especially now. I’ve seen firsthand how widespread mental health struggles are among students and educators.

As someone who keeps a close eye on things, it’s become painfully obvious that so many people are really struggling right now. Whether it’s teachers being completely overwhelmed, kids facing issues with social media, or parents dealing with the immense stress of rising costs – the need for support is just greater than ever before. It feels like everyone could really use a helping hand.

The television personality finished by saying he and his wife will be running the 2025 London Marathon to support a fantastic charity, and he’s very proud to do so.

In February, the Siddiquis announced on Instagram that their beloved cat, Rufus, had passed away at the age of 15. They shared the heartbreaking news with their followers.

Nasreen, 69, has long since been pondered about by fans, but has never made an appearance.

After years of speculation, she was asked by the TopMob in 2016 if she would ever appear.

Nasreen responded, “Oh, no, that’s not a good fit for me. I’m not very confident in my English, and I’m quite shy.”

‘It’s best left to the boys. You won’t get me on the TV.’

Gogglebox airs on Channel 4 and is available to stream on channel4.com.
