Gogglebox star Amy Tapper hits back at trolls who criticise her of use of weight loss jabs after shedding 7st

Amy Tapper, known from the show Gogglebox, has spoken out to explain why she chose to use weight loss injections, following her impressive weight loss of seven stone.

The 25-year-old TV star shared that she started taking medication in June of last year because she felt she had exhausted all other options.

However, she faced criticism, with some fans accusing her of dishonesty and claiming she had misled them.

Amy has responded to criticism by explaining that she trusts her own approach to wellness. She says she’s been following the common advice to ‘eat less and move more’ for two decades, but it wasn’t enough on its own to achieve her goals, and ultimately, what works for her is what’s important.

She told The Mirror that people criticize you whether you’re gaining, losing, or maintaining weight, and how you achieve your weight goals shouldn’t be anyone else’s concern.

Amy mentioned she was considering weight-loss surgery, but her doctor suggested trying medication first.

The star lost 5lbs in just one week of taking Mounjaro and six months later she had lost 4st.

She shared that losing a significant amount of weight – nearly eight stone – feels incredible and has completely changed her life.

Amy has lost enough weight to go from a size 26 to a size 18. She’s excited that she can now shop for clothes in regular stores and feels comfortable at events like the theatre, without worrying about taking up too much space.

She was happy to report that on her recent vacation, she didn’t need a seat belt extender or to request an aisle seat for the first time.

I was so inspired to see Amy’s amazing transformation last month! She shared some new holiday photos showing off her incredible 7-stone weight loss. She’d previously mentioned losing three dress sizes over the year, and even posted a before-and-after picture, which was really motivating.

Amy looked fantastic showcasing her achievements, posing confidently on her hotel balcony in a chic blue denim dress.

She looked incredibly confident in her summer outfit, which included a flattering scoop neck, a fitted bodice, and a flowing pleated skirt.

The TV personality captioned the new photos: ‘Another day another slay (dancing emojis).’

Amy shared that she began using weight loss injections in June 2024 because she felt she had exhausted all other options.

She recently told The Sun that she’s been able to fit into a size 18 for the first time since her teens, which she finds amazing.

‘It’s changed my life. I get annoyed, though, that some people call it the “lazy way out”.

I want to make it clear that I haven’t been inactive when it comes to my weight for the past 17 years. This current approach is simply the only thing that’s worked for me so far.

Amy has been taking a 15mg weekly dose since February, which she worked her way up to from 2.5mg.
