Gods & Demons Beginners Guide and Tips
Com2uS’s Gods & Demons is an intriguing idle role-playing game (RPG). This game offers an immersive idle RPG experience by blending strategic hero gathering, team construction, and resource management. Venture into different game modes as you traverse through this adventure while facing a perpetual test of your team’s power. Boasting a rich assortment of heroes, each classified in distinct categories. In this beginner’s guide to Gods & Demons, we will walk you through the fundamental mechanics and systems, along with some advice for navigating the game effectively as a novice player.
Gameplay Overview
In this Idle RPG, the primary emphasis on battles is about strategically arranging your character placement during combat. Characters vary in rarity, with four-star and five-star characters standing out significantly. Yet, it’s important to note that not all five-star characters are identical in their abilities.
As a dedicated enthusiast, I’ve noticed that some characters excel with just three exceptional skills, while the truly formidable ones boast an impressive four talents. It’s crucial to direct our efforts and resources towards the five-star heroes who possess these four talents, as they promise greater long-term returns. Let’s delve into the various factions and classes of Heroes that will be your loyal companions on this journey. Each faction showcases unique traits for each race.

- Human – A versatile and balanced race.
- Orc – Masters of battle, renowned for their powerful warriors
- Spirit – masters of magic
- God – Guardians who protect all beings with holy light
- Demon – Rulers who pursue ultimate power and strength
One captivating aspect of Gods & Demons lies in the clashes between different races, such as the stark contrast between the Orc and Spirit races. The Orcs favor raw power, while Spirits are committed to preserving nature, resulting in distinct combat strategies. Consequently, Orcs with an aggressive assault approach perform well against Spirits who specialize in magic and support. Furthermore, having multiple Heroes from the same race on your team results in stat boosts.
Gods & Demons Basics
Classes
Each hero has one of four classes, playing a vital role in battle.

- Assault – Deals powerful single-target or AoE damage.
- Tank– shields allies with high defense, blocking enemy attacks in the front row.
- Magic – deals significant AoE magic damage and applies debuffs from the rear row.
- Support – enhances team stability with healing and unique buffs.
As a newcomer to the game, it’s perfectly fine to invest in three-talented five-star heroes at the outset because they can be reborn later on. The reborn process brings a hero’s level back down to one, while also returning all previously invested resources. This feature enables players like us to move forward with stronger heroes without suffering significant setbacks.
Formation and Positioning
The game provides a range of different tactical arrangements, with additional ones becoming available at Level 40. The correct positioning of your heroes is crucial for achieving optimal performance. If the opponent primarily focuses on attacking the rear line, it’s best to keep damage dealers away from exposed positions. Altering formations according to the enemy’s attack strategies can enhance both survivability and damage infliction.
Ascension Hall
In Ascension Hall, lower-tier characters (referred to as ‘Heroes’) can be upgraded to higher-tier characters of the same name by using materials. Characters initially at a 4-star level can be upgraded to 5-stars, and those starting at 5-stars can be upgraded to 6-stars. The initial slot is reserved for the primary Hero to be upgraded.
The elevated Champion assumes the primary Character’s attributes; the remaining positions are reserved for auxiliary Characters who will be used up during the elevation process. Once ascension is successful, all resources spent on developing the Character, such as Gold Coins, Experience Points for the Hero, and Advancement Stones, will be restored.
Equipment Synthesis

In this game, you can combine lower-quality items (with fewer stars) into more advanced and higher-rated ones by using Gold Coins. This process is called Equipment Synthesis. On the other hand, Quick Synthesis automatically merges high-tier, high-star-rating items from your inventory without requiring any user intervention. However, if you don’t have enough Gold Coins during Quick Synthesis, only a portion of the equipment will be synthesized.
Hero Altar
1. Once you break down heroes, they’ll no longer be in your squad. Dismantling heroes of level 2 or lower will yield Experience Potions and Progression Stones. Discarding heroes level 3 and above will also grant Soul’s Wings as an extra reward. Upon dismantling, all cultivation materials will be returned to you, and the equipment on the hero will automatically be removed.
2. When you demolish heroes from your team, they won’t appear there anymore. If you deconstruct heroes with a level of 2 stars or lower, you’ll receive Experience Elixirs and Evolution Crystals. Discarding heroes with a level of 3 stars or higher will also grant Soul Feathers as an added benefit. Once destroyed, all growth materials will be returned to you, and the hero’s equipment will be removed automatically.
3. In your squad, dismantling heroes means they’ll disappear from the lineup. Deconstructing 2-star or lower heroes results in Experience Serums and Ascension Stones. Discarding 3-star or higher heroes gives you Soul Wings as an extra perk. Upon demolition, all cultivation resources will be refunded, and the hero’s equipment will come off automatically.
4. In your roster, dismantling heroes will make them vanish. Dismantling 2-star or lower heroes produces Experience Essences and Advancement Crystals. Discarding 3-star or higher heroes also rewards Soul Wings as an additional benefit. After being demolished, all growth materials are returned to you, and the hero’s equipment is removed automatically.
5. When you break down heroes in your team, they won’t be there anymore. If you dismantle heroes with a rating of 2 stars or lower, you will obtain Experience Elixirs and Progression Stones. Discarding heroes with a rating of 3 stars or higher also grants Soul Feathers as an additional prize. Upon deconstruction, all cultivation materials are returned to you, and the hero’s equipment is removed automatically.
The Soul’s Wings serve as your shopping currency in the store. The Swift Pick option enables you to pick Heroes with a rating of 3* and lower, up to a maximum of 15 per dismantle. The Quick Dismantle feature becomes available at Lv. 60, enabling you to swiftly dismantle all 3* and lower Heroes, but each faction’s 3* Heroes will keep 10 (or all if fewer than 10). Only Heroes with a rating of 5* or lower can be dismantled.
Hero Summons
Fresh players are assured to obtain a 5-star Demon Hunter in their initial 10 attempts or summons. The more summons you make, the greater the priority. For instance, the guaranteed reward after every 20 summons has a higher precedence over the reward for every 10 summons.

When calling upon heroes, summons that appear golden signify top-tier characters with a five-star rating. It’s essential to understand that not every five-star hero possesses the same abilities; some might have just three talents while the most potent ones boast four talents. A smart approach for summoning is to gather summoning vouchers by making thoughtful diamond investments, rather than using diamonds directly for draws.
Limited-Time Summon
Every time you choose not to summon the UP Hero and instead opt for other summons, the chance of eventually getting the UP Hero in a future summon grows, as it’s influenced by the overall number of summons you’ve made without successfully summoning the UP Hero.
Calling forth the Up Hero resets the summon chances tracker. It’s important to note that if the Up Hero isn’t summoned during the event duration and a different Up Hero is selected instead, this switch won’t influence the tracker. Also, be aware that the provided probabilities are rounded off to the fourth decimal point, which means the overall probability might not always equal 100%.
Ishir Temple
As a gamer, experiencing the thrill of getting an epic or superior hero for the first time, or elevating one that’s already epic or above, brings about the acquisition of the radiant “Light of Ishir.” This divine light serves a crucial role in upgrading my “Ishir Temple,” which in turn bestows stat bonuses to every single one of my heroes.

In the Ishir Temple lies a tradition where the blooms of Ishir are offered to the deity, boosting the fundamental abilities of all heroes. As the sanctuary’s level rises, so does the number of prayers that the flowers of Ishir can grant incrementally.
Arena
In the Arena, your weekly challenge rewards correspond to the number of challenges you complete each week. The challenge chests reset every Sunday at 7:00 AM Pacific Standard Time or 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time. Rewards for the day are determined by the points ranking and delivered via email at 4:00 AM Pacific Standard Time or 5:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time.

The weekly rankings for the season are settled every Sunday at 4:00 AM Pacific Standard Time (PST) or 5:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). Each challenge you participate in requires an Arena Challenge Ticket. You’ll be given three free chances to take on challenges each day, which reset at 7:00 AM PST or 8:00 AM PDT. Points are awarded for victories and deducted for defeats. Players can modify their defense lineup in the Defense Lineup interface, and the battle record keeps track of your last ten battles.
