Goddess Order enters indefinite maintenance just a month after launch amid operational troubles

Kakao Games announced that its new pixel-art action RPG, Goddess Order, will be taken offline for an indefinite period, only a month after it first launched. The game’s developer, Pixel Tribe – the team behind Crusaders Quest – explained that they are facing financial and operational challenges that prevent them from continuing to update the game.

You may recall Goddess Order, the action RPG released in September after a limited launch in July. It features lovely, detailed pixel art and lets you create a team of three knights. Players then engage in quick, side-scrolling combat, executing impressive tag-team attacks.

The team behind Goddess Order announced on X that the game is currently in maintenance, and will remain so indefinitely. This is because Pixel Tribe, the game’s developers, have stated they can no longer afford to update or maintain it due to financial and operational issues.

Upcoming Olek and major November updates stand cancelled following the announcement

It’s particularly disappointing because the team had been working on two significant updates – one planned for November 5th, called the Olek Update, and another for November 12th – but both have now been cancelled. They explained that they can no longer create or release any new content or events.

We were impressed after speaking with Pixel Tribe in August. Terron Jung, their Content Director, mentioned the game’s launch was just the first step in their plans. Producer Jinsung Choi also shared their aim to make ‘Goddess Order’ a game people can enjoy daily.

Despite the challenges, the team has assured players they’ll work hard to maintain the game’s accessibility given the current technical limitations.

After this announcement, we’ve stopped all purchases within the app. You can now request refunds through the in-game help system. While it’s not ideal, we hope the game recovers, or that they release an offline version sometime soon.
