God Sim 'Masters of Albion' Revealed, Could Be Peter Molyneux's Final Game

As a gamer with a penchant for epic adventures and a soft spot for god games, the announcement of Masters of Albion by the legendary Peter Molyneux has sent ripples of excitement coursing through my veins. The prospect of delving into a fantastical world, building thriving towns, and battling hordes of undead, werewolves, and trolls at night, all while manipulating the lives of my subjects, is simply too tantalizing to resist.

22cans studio founder Peter Molyneux, previously known for creating fables, has unveiled Masters of Albion – a new god game set in a fantastical realm. In this role, you’ll oversee a town, constructing houses and necessary facilities during the day, while fending off nightly attacks from zombies, werewolves, trolls, and other malevolent beings.

To handle this situation effectively, you might also need to establish defenses or go on the offensive by capturing one of your town’s inhabitants and initiating combat with your attackers. You will have the power to control and influence any character, deciding what they consume, wear, inhabit, and the weapons they carry.

According to the developer himself, Masters of Albion might be Molyneux’s final project as he shared with GI.biz that his habits such as smoking, drinking, and insufficient sleep have him counting his life not in years but in days.

He didn’t mention retiring, but he hinted that his days are numbered due to his unhealthy habits. He said that when this project is completed, he will be in his late 60s, and if he takes on another one, he would be in his mid-70s. Given his lifestyle, which includes smoking, drinking, and lack of sleep, his life expectancy is short rather than long.

One reason Molyneux decided to go back to creating PC and console games is because he felt disenchanted with mobile games, and he wanted to develop a game that would appeal to dedicated gamers. He likened this return to the experience of getting the band back together one more time.

As a longtime gamer with a soft spot for strategy games, I’m genuinely excited about the upcoming release of Masters of Albion. Although I don’t yet have a specific date to mark in my calendar, the fact that it’s coming to PC and consoles has certainly piqued my interest. Fingers crossed it will indeed be available on both Xbox and PlayStation – I’ve always found that multiplatform releases make games more accessible and enjoyable for a wider audience like myself. Can’t wait to dive into the world of Masters of Albion when it drops!
