God of War Actor Responds To Casting Rumors in Live-Action Series

For months, fans have wondered who will play Kratos in the new live-action God of War series. Now, Christopher Judge, the famous voice actor behind the Ghost of Sparta in the popular PlayStation games, has responded to rumors that he might be taking on the role in the upcoming show. He recently gave a mysterious answer when asked about reports saying he’s in discussions to play Kratos again.

Actor Christopher Judge playfully questioned a claim made by John Campea that Judge had been considered to portray a live-action version of his iconic character, Kratos. Judge responded to the rumor on X (formerly Twitter) with a simple, questioning “I am???” followed by three confused face emojis and a heart.

Film critic Campea recently shared a video on his YouTube channel discussing potential actors to play Kratos in a God of War adaptation. He suggested Judge, along with other well-known names like Jason Momoa, Henry Cavill, Triple H, and Dave Bautista, as strong candidates for the role.

Despite continued fan interest, Judge remains tight-lipped about reprising his popular role. He reacted similarly on X (formerly Twitter) in December 2024, responding to fan casting lists that included him with a simple “FINALLY” and a laughing heart emoji.

Amazon Prime Video first revealed plans for a “God of War” series in 2022, and it will likely be based on the story from the 2018 video game. Filming is now expected to begin in March 2026, potentially leading to a release in late 2027 or early 2028. Ronald D. Moore, the showrunner, writer, and executive producer, has confirmed that Amazon has already ordered two additional seasons. While fans are excited about this live-action adaptation of the popular game, Amazon hasn’t yet announced who will star in the show.
