Coffee Stain North has revealed that the popular video game Goat Simulator will be made available in physical form, with a new version called Goat Simulator: The Card Game set to launch on Kickstarter this year. This project is being handled by MOOD Publishing, a company renowned for successfully translating video games into board games, such as Deep Rock Galactic: The Board Game and the upcoming Valheim: The Board Game.

The “Goat Simulator: The Card Game” is a tangible card game that encapsulates the madcap fun and absurd moments of the Goat Simulator series, packing them into an enjoyable, card-filled container. By creating this card game, both Coffee Stain North and MOOD Publishing aim to transport the goat mayhem from your screens to your tabletop, providing endless hours of enjoyment with friends and family.

For those unaware, Goat Simulator originated as an April Fool’s prank during a game development competition. Eventually, it transformed into a genuine sensation in goat simulation games, selling countless copies on consoles and PC in 2014. It can now be found on platforms like the Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and Apple Arcade. Goat Simulator 3 functions as a follow-up, building upon everything fans adored from the first game.

Instead of playing chaotic animal-based video games that were popular last year, we’ve teamed up with MOOD Publishing to introduce a new twist: a chaotic animal-based card game! Instead of goats appearing on your screen, prepare for them to appear on your tabletop. I’m quite eager about this upcoming card game, even though details are still scarce at the moment. It’s set to debut on Kickstarter soon. Given my past experiences with games from MOOD Publishing, I have high hopes for this new release. They’ve hinted that we’ll get a sneak peek of the game box design shortly.
