Sony’s new animated comedy, GOAT, is getting rave reviews, potentially living up to its title as the “Greatest of All Time.” Critics are praising the film, which comes from the studio behind hits like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and KPop Demon Hunters. Early reviews call it a visually stunning and creative winner, with a talented voice cast bringing the story to life.
Sony Pictures Animation, the studio behind hits like the Spider-Verse movies, Hotel Transylvania, and The Mitchells vs. the Machines (which is getting a sequel!), seems to have another promising film with GOAT. This original animated action-comedy is set in a world populated entirely by animals, similar to Disney’s Zootopia. Tyree Dillihay directs, and basketball star Stephen Curry produces and also lends his voice to the impressive cast. Gabrielle Union, Aaron Pierre, Nicola Coughlan, David Harbour, Patton Oswalt, Jennifer Hudson, and Caleb McLaughlin (from Stranger Things) are also among the voice actors. McLaughlin stars as Will, a goat, in the lead role.
Will is a small goat with huge ambitions, and he gets the chance of a lifetime when he’s recruited to play roarball – a fast-paced, full-contact sport played by the world’s most powerful animals. His teammates are skeptical of a little goat joining the team, but Will is determined to change the game and show everyone that size doesn’t matter when it comes to playing roarball!
This is a developing story…
