Glen Powell shares exciting Top Gun 3 update
As a dedicated gamer and avid movie buff, I can hardly contain my excitement over Glen Powell‘s recent update regarding the upcoming third installment of the iconic “Top Gun” franchise! With his electrifying performance as LT Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin in “Top Gun: Maverick,” Powell has truly cemented himself as a worthy successor to Tom Cruise’s legendary character, Maverick.
Glen Powell has given Top Gun fans an exciting update on the third film.
In the 2022 hit film “Top Gun: Maverick,” the actor portraying a hitman made an appearance. He joined stars such as Miles Teller, Jon Hamm, Tom Cruise, and Val Kilmer on the cast.
More recently, it was announced that a third movie is being made, and Powell will once again take on the pilot role. Information about this upcoming project has been limited. However, the actor from “Twister” has shared some fresh news with eager fans.
In an interview on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast with Daisy Edgar-Jones, Powell revealed that he had set a beginning date for filming “Top Gun 3” with Twists as a costar.
When inquired about which of a potential new “Top Gun” movie or a fresh season of “Normal People” featuring Edgar-Jones would make its debut first, Powell casually mentioned: “Well, I’ve got a scheduled appointment.”
I pondered whether they were discussing a new role in “Top Gun” for me, but then the conversation took an unexpected turn. Powell asked instead if I was prepared to rejoin “Normal People,” working once again with Paul Mescal.
Edgar-Jones said no, to which Powell responded: “Okay, then probably me.”
Based on my experience as a movie enthusiast and avid follower of Hollywood news, I can tell you that during a recent interview with Josh Horowitz, the actor was very guarded about sharing any additional information regarding the upcoming “Top Gun” film. When directly asked if he had any new details to disclose, his response was firm and clear: “absolutely not.” This reticence is quite common in the entertainment industry, especially when major productions are still under wraps. It’s part of the intrigue and excitement that comes with anticipating a highly-anticipated sequel or reboot. So, while we may be left wanting more, it only adds to the mystery surrounding this highly-anticipated project.
More recently, Twisters featured performances from Powell and Edgar-Jones in this highly anticipated sequel to the 1996 disaster movie Twister.
Kate Cooper, played by Saoirse Ronan in “Twisters,” has to deal with her past traumas brought on by a tornado catastrophe when her friend Javi, portrayed by Anthony Ramos, invites her to the vast open spaces to trial an innovative new storm tracking system.
Tyler Owens, a well-known storm chaser and social media sensation (Powell), encounters the duo in central Oklahoma. However, their meeting proves to be perilous as they are forced to battle for survival when several tornadoes merge over the region.
Previously, Powell disclosed that his parents made an appearance in the movie “Twisters.” He posted a clip on TikTok showing Cyndy Powell and Glen Powell Sr getting ready for a major rodeo scene.
In addition, they made an appearance in the successful romantic comedy “Anyone But You,” sharing the screen with the actor during a scene on a plane involving their son and Sydney Sweeney.
