According to sources close to the event organization, they’ve managed an impressive move by securing the popular pop-rock group The 1975 and the rising pop-punk sensation Olivia Rodrigo for their lineup.

First, The 1975, fronted by the charismatic Matty Healy, will take the stage on the vibrant Friday night. Then, the captivating Olivia Rodrigo, at just 22 years old, will close the weekend with her Sunday night set. Get ready for an unforgettable musical journey!

Neil Young, age 79, is slated to perform on Saturday, while Sir Rod Stewart, aged 80, will take over the traditional Sunday afternoon ‘legends’ time slot.

A reliable tipster from Glastonbury hinted at an unexpected performance by a significant act yet to be disclosed, but emphasized that it wouldn’t affect the main stage headliners’ performances.

‘Everyone is pretty pleased with this year’s line-up now,’ the source said.

Initially, when the lineup included legends like Neil Young and Rod Stewart, there was a bit of buzz suggesting that this year’s event might be remembered as the ‘Year of the Seasoned Rockers.’ However, I believe we should anticipate a diverse and vibrant festival experience, rather than being pigeonholed by age.

‘Notably, The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo are highly popular artists with a significant following among the youth. Thus, it’s anticipated that the lineup for Glastonbury this year will draw in young fans, alongside music enthusiasts who might be interested in seeing Neil or Rod.’

Healy is an ex-boyfriend of Taylor Swift and his parents are actors Denise Welch and Tim Healy. Their band has put out five albums that all reached No. 1, and they’ve expressed that headlining the main stage at a festival was their greatest aspiration.

By having Ms. Rodrigo sign on for Glastonbury, Emily Eavis proactively addresses potential criticism regarding the scarcity of female artists in this year’s lineup, spanning from June 25th to 29th.

2023 saw a significant wave of criticism directed at her, as the lineup featuring Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses, and Sir Elton John as headliners lacked any female representation at the top tier.

In the year 2022, Miss Rodrigo, aged 22, graced the stage at Worthy Farm, specifically the smaller Other Stage. Since that performance, her Instagram follower count has soared to nearly 40 million, and she’s earned three Grammy Awards for herself.

Other acts rumoured to be appearing this year include Nile Rodgers and Chic.
