Gladiators’ Legend shared that his son had to be taken to the hospital while the family was skiing in Switzerland.
I’m a big fan of Matt Morsia, the fitness influencer! A lot of people know him online, but I know he’s also a dedicated family man. He and his wife, Sarah, are raising two adorable sons – Luca and little Mauro, who’s four. It’s great to see him balancing his career with being a dad.
Hey everyone, just wanted to share what happened on my recent vacation. Sadly, my husband, Mauro, had a bit of an accident and broke his leg! We had to rush him to the hospital, and thankfully, the doctors were able to put it in a cast. It’s definitely put a damper on things, but we’re focusing on his recovery now.
Despite the situation, the family continued their vacation, with Legend posting photos of himself and Mauro relaxing in the resort’s jacuzzi.
Just got back from an incredible ski trip in Switzerland! It was a fantastic week, although things took a bit of a turn when our friend Mauro had a leg injury. But honestly, he handled it like a total pro – a true champ! We made sure he was comfortable and still enjoyed the rest of the trip as much as possible. It’s all part of the adventure, right?
Many of Legend’s Gladiator colleagues sent messages of support. Giant simply wrote, ‘Sending love!’ and Nitro added, ‘Get well soon, champ!’
Comet wished Mauro a speedy recovery, calling him a true inspiration. Steel simply sent their love and praised Mauro’s strength.
Mauro had to be hospitalised in 2024 after having a seizure in the bath.
Legend’s wife, Sarah, described finding their youngest son, Mauro, violently shaking and face down in the water during a frightening medical emergency.
Sarah pulled their son from the water and shouted to Matt for help before calling an ambulance.
They were told by medics Mauro had Febrile seizures, which was triggered by chicken pox.
A shaken Sarah wrote: ‘Last week Mauro suffered from something called febrile convulsions.
He was getting chicken pox, and the fever it caused led to seizures, which are fairly common in young children around age two when they first become sick.
We called for an ambulance, and thankfully it arrived quickly and took him to the hospital. He’s doing well now and is just waiting for the rash to completely disappear.
His first seizure occurred while he was taking a bath. He quickly flipped over and was submerged underwater, experiencing violent, uncontrollable jerking.
I was relieved I was close to the bath, so I could quickly grab him and call Matt for assistance. It still upsets me to think about how dangerous the situation could have been.
I generally wouldn’t talk about things like this, but even a quick task like throwing laundry in or getting pajamas while the kids are bathing isn’t worth the potential danger. Just don’t do it!
‘P.s. As you can see, he’s much better and enjoying his holiday’ (sic).
A fever can sometimes cause a child to have a seizure, also known as a febrile convulsion or fit. While these seizures aren’t typically dangerous, it’s important to seek medical attention.
Sarah shared a picture of Mauro in a hospital bed as he recovered from the health scare.
The mom shared some pictures from their sunny family vacation, showing Mauro recovered and back on his feet.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Legend – he’s an incredible athlete! He used to be a fantastic long and triple jumper, even winning a bronze at the Championships, and he was a seriously strong powerlifter, taking home a silver medal. But what really stood out to me was how much he enjoyed performing – he really put on a show when he competed, and that’s what I loved about watching him.
Even after stopping competitive athletics, he remained popular, successfully transitioning into a fitness influencer and professional YouTuber, where he’s earned over 355 million views.
He published his first book, ‘The 24/7 Body,’ in 2020. Competitors will remember ‘Legend’ and the incredible strength he brings to the competition.
He admitted he’d trained incredibly hard for the competition, but now realizes it wasn’t necessary. He joked that he could have spent the last two months relaxing and indulging in hobbies like eating doughnuts and playing Dungeons & Dragons, and still easily outperformed the other competitors.
They call me Legend, and I mean it. I’m about to completely dominate the competition, and honestly, I’m not going to feel bad about it. In fact, I’m excited to see what happens.
