Katherine Ryan openly admitted that she was unfaithful to a former partner, and now expresses satisfaction with her choice, as she honestly reflects back on the situation.

In a recent episode of the Mad, Sad and Bad with Paloma Faith podcast, broadcast on Tuesday, the comedian, who is 41 and has been in a civil partnership with Bobby Koostra, also 41, since 2019, opened up about their previous circumstances.

When inquired about her greatest act, Katherine confessed, “I once deceived one of my partners, and while it was wrong, I believe he had it coming, and I’ve always taken pride in having done it.

Paloma asked, “Was that your plan to end things?” To which the comedian chuckled and replied, “Indeed. In our relationship, we’d both had enough. I asked him to pack up and go.

Without specifying the exact example, she went on to say: ‘Moreover, since I’m a single mom, people would often comment, “Ah, he abandoned you,” but in truth, I had been urging him to depart for quite some time.’

Funny isn’t it, how some folks seem to treat personal choices as if they were mere objects, yet they’d show more regard for another man’s possessions? It’s almost as if their respect hinges on ownership. But bring another man into the picture, and suddenly, it seems, they find themselves speechless, “Oh”-ing in surprise.

Later, Palmona humorously added: “Someone else has marked this tree, much like a dog.

Absolutely,” affirmed Katherine, “What I needed was some relief, it was quite a miserable experience in the moment. The guilt was overwhelming, and no one wants to cause harm deliberately.

Reflecting on the overall scenario as mentioned, no one can claim certainty about events that transpired over the past decade, half decade, couple of years, or however long.

Later on, Paloma commented: ‘It’s common among men, and it’s seen as unfortunate for the woman who’s been wronged. However, when a woman does the same, she’s often portrayed as evil. Yet, it seems like you’ve exhausted many solutions in your attempt to address this issue.’

Katherine determined: ‘I felt like I didn’t have another option. If I did, it probably would have been to show more bravery and simply leave. However, in our relationship, things had ended. I had requested that he depart from our shared space.’

After Katherine posted a health update on Friday, which followed her second surgery due to her skin cancer diagnosis.

Last month, the comedian revealed that she’d recently discovered a cancerous growth on her arm – this follows an earlier diagnosis of melanoma in her youth.

Last week, a private removal was performed, but subsequent tests revealed that it was cancerous. Consequently, she needed another operation to eliminate more of the affected region around it.

On her Instagram Story, Katherine shared a picture of the area where she had surgery, now wrapped up with a bandage.

She wrote: ‘This is going so well by the way and should heal flat.’

As a passionate admirer, I couldn’t help but share a unique glimpse into my idol’s life. In one of her recent posts, she revealed to her followers what it once was, and she added this intriguing caption: ‘Here is a photograph of the melanoma (trust me, it doesn’t resemble melanoma at all) in her office before they surgically removed it.’

Katherine had her second surgery on Monday and uploaded a photo of her arm, covered with a plaster.

She captioned the update: ‘Done,’ with a tick and a red heart emoji.

Katherine was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer back in 2004, and she has now been diagnosed with the same disease for a second time.

On her recent episode of Telling Everybody Everything, she shared: “They consented to take it down solely after I visited an exclusive location in South Kensington, where I shelled out a thousand pounds.

‘I don’t know if on the NHS they ever would have removed this mole.’

Rather than having faith that the NHS would excise her mole, the Canadian comedian disclosed encountering various issues when consulting with private physicians instead.

She shared that she spent £300 on a brief, seven-minute appointment with a doctor, who unfortunately misdiagnosed her and told her the mole was not cancerous when it actually was.

Yet she was inspired to keep pushing with her concerns after following Teddi Mellencamp’s journey.

43-year-old cast member of The Real Housewives series has been fighting off skin cancer since 2022, and this year disclosed that medical professionals discovered three brain tumors in her during examinations.

Katherine remembered thinking: “He told me the fantastic news I had been hoping for! It’s so simple to accept a clean bill of health and move on, thinking ‘I’m good, I’m healthy,’ without giving it another thought, as that’s the most effortless news.

However, the mole was continuously altering – I have extensive knowledge about melanoma, having experienced it myself as a young woman in its stage two, on my leg. Previously, I’ve shared my experiences with this condition.

She went on to say: ‘Although it didn’t initially appear like typical melanoma to me, I could see some irregularities such as discoloration, asymmetry, and a mix of black and red tones. It was a flat mole, not overly large or severe in appearance, but it turned out to be stage two melanoma, which is concerning.’

To remove a golf ball-sized growth from my leg, I required a complete anesthetic and surgery due to the rapid spreading nature of melanoma, a particularly aggressive type of skin cancer.

In regards to her ongoing fight against cancer, she shared: “Something about that mole didn’t feel quite right to me. It’s located on my arm and I even posted photos of it online, this is what the area looks like after its removal.

In simpler terms, I entered the room seeking the doctor’s help to excise a larger portion of it and then stitch the area in a neat, straight line.

Even though he examined it closely, his thoughts were, “This isn’t melanoma; everything seems okay. I’ll go ahead with shaving it off and sending the sample for a histology test. If we missed any boundaries during the initial cut, then we’ll perform a deeper excision.

In my professional opinion, the results indicated a more comprehensive approach was necessary for her situation, and she echoed this sentiment by saying: “It seems hard to believe, as if I wouldn’t be here today without standing up for myself – and I plan to keep advocating for myself.

‘Had I not persisted with further questioning, if I had accepted the initial response and left it be, there might have been a melanoma growing undetected in my arm. I might have dismissed concerns, saying “the doctor says it’s okay, it’s okay,” without knowing how advanced it could have become.’

Katherine expressed her surprise upon hearing the diagnosis, explaining that she’s taken great care to safeguard her skin.

She told Bobby Kootstra that she had been feeling both grateful and bewildered when she phoned him.

It’s less than optimal to develop melanoma more than once in one’s lifetime, as it suggests a strong genetic susceptibility. Given my fair, Celtic complexion and the abundance of over 100 moles on my body, it appears I have a high genetic predisposition towards this condition.

I always protect myself from the sun by wearing SPF, covering my entire body, including my arms and face. Yet, I’ve had two instances of melanoma diagnosed. Now, I’m concerned about any other suspicious moles that might require checking.

She added in a TikTok video: ‘This time luckily I caught it early, I don’t think it has spread.’
