While increasingly sophisticated AI agents promise to revolutionize automation, a formal framework for analyzing their impact on closed-loop control systems remains elusive. This paper, ‘A Control-Theoretic Foundation for Agentic Systems’, addresses this gap by formalizing agency as hierarchical authority over a control architecture, allowing for a unified dynamical representation of adaptive behaviors.
