I’m so excited! Darkwinter Software just released Girls’ Frontline: Fire Control, and as a big fan of the Girls’ Frontline world, I’ve been checking it out. It’s a really cool game where you get to blast through intense battles, but it’s not just about shooting – building the right team is super important too. I’ve put together a beginner’s guide with my tips for winning matches and getting that awesome MVP!
Squad Building plays an important role
During character selection, it’s important to ensure your team includes all the different classes. Otherwise, battles can become very unbalanced and one-sided quickly. I’ve tested various class combinations and discovered that each character has strengths and weaknesses against others, which helps keep the game fair.

- Sniper, as the name says, needs aim and is good at long range.
- Assault are DPS Dolls who are very good at all three ranges but need good support to stay alive.
- Flanks are SMG dolls that strike from behind in close range and then quickly move out.
- Support are pistol dolls that support by healing the team.
- Tanks are shotgunners with good shields and HP that are great in close range.
Choosing your Doll from the different Classes
This game is a team-based shooter where you control a hero, choosing from 12 different characters when it launches. You start with just one character, and earn the others by playing and collecting in-game currency – similar to how it works in Valorant.

Each doll provides unique strengths and ways to play the game. Currently, there are five different character types: Snipers, Medics, Assault units, Flankers, and Tanks. Each type has two dolls designed to be effective against each other, and I’ll explain how this system works below.
Girls Frontline Fire Control Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks
1. Secure a Balanced Team and Tactical Setup early
It’s easy to just pick characters randomly when you begin, but try to avoid that. Instead, focus on creating a well-rounded team right away. You’ll need someone who can deal a lot of damage (a DPS unit), a character to keep everyone healthy (a support or healer), and someone to control the battlefield, either by protecting your team (a tank) or attacking from the sides (a flanker). Having a good mix of characters will help you succeed in all kinds of battles, from long, challenging fights to fast-paced arena matches.
2. Master the Tactical Build of the Doll you play
The most fun part of the game is improving your dolls as you play. Discovering different ways to build and equip them lets you gain an advantage over opponents and experience the excitement of victory.

When you battle another player using the same doll, skill is key. Taking down their doll first demonstrates your mastery and shows how well you control yours.
3. Maps and Item placements
The game features diverse maps, ranging from the intense, close-quarters combat of Nordtown to the long-distance engagements possible on the Garage map. Learning the map layouts and health pack locations is crucial for surviving battles.
4. Different game modes require different playstyles

Okay, so there are two main ways to play. First up is Team Deathmatch – it’s a classic, and the first team to get 30 kills wins. You really need to be aggressive and go for the kills in that mode. The other mode is Destroy the Guardian, which feels a lot like a MOBA. You basically have to push towards the enemy base and take out their Guardian. In that one, playing defensively and coordinating with your team is key.
5. Explore all the events
Participating in events is a quick way to earn the in-game currency you need to unlock characters. It’s much faster than playing matches repeatedly. Focus on completing daily challenges and BP missions, especially those that require you to be online, as they easily reward you with 15,000 coins. You only need 30,000 coins to unlock a new character, so these events will get you there quickly.
Final Thoughts
Everyone experiences wins and losses, so don’t get discouraged if you lose a game. Keep your head up and focus on the next match – sometimes your opponent just plays exceptionally well. While the game isn’t perfect, it has a special appeal that keeps players coming back.
