Giovanni Pernice will star in the Italian version of Strictly alongside axed co-star Graziano Di Prima’s wife
As a passionate fan of Strictly Come Dancing and all things dance-related, it’s been a rollercoaster ride watching the events unfold surrounding my beloved Italian heartthrob, Giovanni Pernice. From his rise to fame on our screens to the recent investigations that have left him, and many of us fans, in limbo. But, oh, the twists and turns! Just when I thought the story couldn’t get any more dramatic, it appears that fate has brought him together with another Strictly star’s significant other – Giada Linni, wife of the now-infamous Graziano Di Prima.
Previously known professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing, Giovanni Pernice, will appear in the Italian adaptation of the series, sharing the stage with the spouse of the removed Graziano Di Prima.
It was disclosed by The Mail on Sunday over the weekend that the captivating Italian, aged 34, is set to become a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.
However, it’s come to light that the dancer, central to a BBC probe regarding accusations of bullying against his ex-partner Amanda Abbington, is set to appear with Giada Linni, spouse of a different Strictly dancer who has also been tainted by scandal.
On a popular social media platform on Monday, it was shared by Graziano’s wife, who is 29 years old, that her agreement for the Italian dance competition has been extended.
On Instagram, she expressed: ‘At last, it’s official! I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be joining the cast once more for Ball and Boone at Steele 2024, marking my fourth season!’
Giada has stood by her husband Graziano, whom she married in 2022 after meeting him in 2014, since he was let go from Strictly Come Dancing.
Two weeks back, I found myself grappling with apprehension over whether the heads of the Italian television series would affirm my participation, given that the BBC’s ongoing investigation hadn’t yet cleared me of all suspicions.
Despite allegations against Amanda being weak and her statements appearing flimsy, they chose to employ him instead, which left the troubled celebrity elated.
Ballando con le Stelle debuted in 2005, a year following the start of its UK counterpart, Strictly Come Dancing. It is recorded within the grand 19th-century theater located at the RAI Auditorium, Foro Italico in Rome.
This fall, a considerable chunk of his time is likely to be spent outside his West London residence.
While Giovanni advances professionally in their home country Italy, Graziano remains in hiding in Sicily along with his mother, spouse, and other family members, following the termination of his employment due to allegations that he physically abused his celebrity partner, Zara McDermott, during practice sessions.
Currently, Graziano resides in a secluded family farmhouse nestled among vineyards. He’s been living a relatively solitary life since the surprising announcement of his dismissal made headlines.
In 2018, the talented dancer started on Strictly and soon gained widespread admiration. However, his career suffered significantly following an investigation into the conduct of the show’s cast members. Notably, a former star from Love Island, Zara, shared accounts of harsh treatment by the professional dancer.
It’s reported that he was caught on camera spitting at and kicking her during practice sessions, leading to the producers of Strictly needing to dismiss him in an attempt to restore the show’s reputation following a series of controversies. The show has been severely affected by these scandals.
The probe was sparked by allegations of bullying from 2023 celebrity contestant Amanda.
