The invitation itself was a simple white T-shirt featuring his picture, and guests were asked to wear formal attire. The event was a perfect way to honor him, just as he would have liked.
Honestly, the show was *perfect*. Every single thing, from the lighting to the music, was exactly as I imagined a Giorgio Armani presentation should be. It was breathtaking… but it just felt… incomplete. I kept scanning the crowd, hoping, *praying* he’d appear. It was amazing, truly, but it would have been absolutely *perfect* if Giorgio himself had been there to see it. It just didn’t feel right without him!
Milan saw a huge turnout of celebrities from the worlds of film, fashion, and music on Sunday evening, all gathering to celebrate the life of the renowned Italian designer who passed away on September 4th at the age of 91. His death occurred just three weeks before the start of Milan Fashion Week.
This collection was the final one designed by the designer before his passing, and it also celebrated the 50th anniversary of his iconic brand.
Richard Gere, 76, was spotted with his wife, Alejandra Silva. The actor is well-known for wearing Armani in the 1980 film *American Gigolo*.
Lauren Hutton, now 81 and the designer’s first inspiration, was also at the event, dressed in a white pantsuit.

Oh my gosh, I was absolutely losing it when I saw Cate Blanchett at the Brera Art Gallery! She’s such an icon, and a total Armani girl – she’s been working with them forever! And her outfit? A stunning gold and black striped jacket – seriously, she can do no wrong. I need that jacket in my life!
Glenn Close, 78, wore a relaxed black pantsuit, while Leslie Bibb, 51, of *The White Lotus*, opted for a strapless black gown.
Among those attending the event were Anna Wintour, the former editor-in-chief of American Vogue, wearing a white skirt suit; actress Marisa Berenson; director Spike Lee; actors James Norton and Samuel L. Jackson; and Italian pop star Alexia.
When night arrived, the courtyard glowed with the light of countless candles. Pianist Ludovico Einaudi played a beautiful and moving rendition of “Nuvole Bianche,” and models strolled through the space in pairs, staying true to Giorgio Armani’s signature style.
The collection showcased many iconic styles – like Nehru jackets, harem pants, and relaxed, unstructured suits – that have greatly impacted fashion for the last fifty years.
The show ended with a collection of evening gowns that captured the subtle elegance Armani has become known for, the same style that dominated red carpets for years.
Oh my gosh, the gowns! They were covered in sequins, and the *colors*! Deep, gorgeous jewel tones everywhere you looked. And the men weren’t left out – seriously, velvet tuxedos! Everything was just so rich and luxurious, it was breathtaking.
Giorgio Armani, a giant in the fashion world, built an empire valued at around £8.75 billion. He was a groundbreaking designer and leaves behind a truly unique and lasting impact.

Mr. Armani died peacefully at home, just weeks before a planned celebration of his 50th anniversary.
In a statement, the fashion house announced his death ‘with infinite sorrow’.
A company spokesperson shared that they were deeply saddened by the loss of their founder, who built the company with incredible vision, passion, and hard work.
Giorgio Armani led the company as both CEO and creative director until his recent passing. In a final interview just last week, he admitted his biggest challenge was his tendency to oversee every detail himself.
The celebrated fashion designer, known for dressing stars like Julia Roberts, George Clooney, and Lady Gaga, was renowned for creating comfortable yet stylish clothes.
He readily admitted to being a workaholic and was deeply involved in all parts of the show’s production. He’d previously shared that his greatest life regret was prioritizing work over spending time with loved ones.

He mentioned in January that he expected to eventually step down, but planned to continue working as long as his health allowed.
In October last year, Armani said he planned to retire within ‘two to three years’.
In an interview with Italy’s Corriere della Sera, he revealed he often has trouble sleeping, dreaming of a future where he doesn’t have to make the final decisions anymore.
Giorgio Armani, a fashion legend, didn’t just define glamorous red-carpet style. He also broadened his brand with the more accessible Emporio Armani line and expanded into the hospitality industry with luxury hotels.
