Gino D’Acampo set to make TV return with brand-new travelogue and Irish drama series after being axed by ITV following accusations of inappropriate behaviour towards women

Gino D’Acampo is making a return to the spotlight with a fresh travel show and an unexpected foray into acting, following his departure from ITV due to allegations of misconduct.

Over the past few months, the television cook, aged 48, has been under scrutiny due to numerous allegations of improper conduct towards women. However, these claims have been refuted by him.

Following the revelation of accusations during an investigation, ITV decided to remove all of Gino’s shows from their future lineup.

At that point, an informed source shared with TopMob: “He’s facing significant issues, and ITV aims to avoid finding itself in a predicament similar to the BBC with Gregg Wallace, or a reoccurrence of the Schofield incident. To ensure they are fully prepared, they are taking all necessary precautions.

However, it is now disclosed that the chef will return to our screens in September, featuring in “An Italian In Malta,” a fresh travel documentary delving into the Mediterranean island where he currently resides as his second home.

He shared with The Mirror: “The intention is to give people worldwide a glimpse into our nation – I’m on a quest for the ideal restaurant, dish, scenic location. I’ll converse with locals, learn their traditional cuisine and cooking techniques that have been passed down for centuries.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that secretly, Gino has been involved in an acting venture in Ireland, portraying a grime-laden mechanic. This is his debut foray into a scripted character.

The character I portray is an Italian-American mechanic who frequently finds himself entangled with legal issues, either with the police or the law. In this series, my role is to be perpetually in such trouble, yet I eventually transform into a helpful figure for the main character.

‘This is acting now, I’m not becoming a real mechanic, I’m useless at stuff like that.’

TopMob has approached representatives for Gino for comment.

After spending several months away from public view, the latest updates arrive regarding the celebrity of This Morning, who temporarily relinquished his TV responsibilities following ITV News’ release of accusations about inappropriate sexual behavior. These allegations encompassed instances of aggressive and sexually suggestive language that reportedly occurred over a period exceeding a decade.

Gino said he ‘firmly denied’ the accusations, calling them ‘simply not in my nature.’

Although his television career took a hit due to the accusations, causing job opportunities to dwindle, Gino maintains he is prepared for what’s next and emphasizes that not all have abandoned him.

Contrary to speculations about a rift between them, Gino clarified that he and Gordon Ramsay remain close friends. He went on to praise Gordon, calling him a “very generous and laid-back individual.

He shared with The Mirror, “He would certainly respond if I called via FaceTime from this location. However, if I call him while I’m on a show, he would definitely get irritated.

This month, Gino unveiled his debut international eatery, named Luciano, on the shores of Malta. Yet, it’s important to note that not all reactions towards Gino’s comeback are likely to be warm and welcoming.

In the past month, during an explicit radio conversation, the previous contestant on I’m A Celeb generated renewed controversy with a series of vulgar remarks concerning female bodies. He expressed that a genuine man appreciates women who have something to hold onto and openly admitted his fondness for fuller figures.

Whenever Nicole mentions her regular dieting, I can’t help but think, “She’s always craving a fresh bone to chew on!

A true man desires substance, things that can be held firmly. Avoid becoming excessively thin, as it’s almost as if there’s nothing there at all.

Previously this year, Melanie Sykes, who once hosted Gino, publicly criticized both the chef and TV executives, stating that it’s time for the entertainment world to remove the “bullyish” personalities from its ranks.

For a period of three years, starting from around 2018, she co-hosted ITV’s cooking and talk show “Let’s Do Lunch” alongside Gino. However, in the year 2021, she decided to leave television following her assertion that MasterChef host Gregg Wallace made an inappropriate comment towards her.

After experiencing a challenging period in her profession, Melanie, aged 55, expressed: “I’ve been observing the behavior of those misogynists on television, and I wholeheartedly back anyone who has faced something unacceptable.

As an ardent fan, I can’t help but express my deep concern when I sense that something isn’t quite right behind the scenes of my beloved productions. While they may try to shield certain actions by claiming they are not directly involved with a production company, it only adds to the distress when things happen on set and there seems to be no protection in place. The fact that some activities are carried out in private is simply appalling and unacceptable for a fan like me who cherishes the stories these productions weave.

I recall a time when Gino confidently mentioned to me that he could simply approach those in power, knock on their door, and enter without needing an appointment. He took great pride in this ability of his.

For more than two decades, it felt like I was waging a relentless war in this industry – a battlefield where nothing seemed quite right to me. My sentiment is simple: if you find yourself constantly mopping up other people’s mess, why not just clean the entire house and start fresh? That’s my advice.
