Gino D’Acampo Accused of Inappropriate Behavior, ITV Under Pressure

According to reports, ITV is facing requests for clarification regarding their handling of accusations leveled against Gino D’Acampo following claims of inappropriate behavior towards him.

Gino, aged 48, has faced more than forty accusations of inappropriate sexual behavior and intimidation spanning a twelve-year timeframe; allegations that he has refuted.

A woman asserted that her complaints regarding Gino from the year 2018 were not addressed by ITV, while it’s alleged that the staff of This Morning had previously voiced concerns about him a full ten years prior.

Currently, ITV is facing a growing need to clarify Gino’s behavior and why no additional measures were implemented against him, as reported by The Sun.

In response, ITV informed TopMob that “if any complaints are lodged with us or significant issues are brought to our attention, we will investigate the matter thoroughly. If we discover any inappropriate behavior, we will take prompt action.

Following allegations concerning Gino’s behavior, those who voiced their complaints accused ITV and other production companies of fiercely shielding the presenter, out of concern that they might lose potential financial backing.

Gino has strongly refuted the accusations directed towards him, stating that they are “completely out of character” for him and finding them extremely distressing.

ITV’s earlier communication indicated that all issues and grievances expressed by individuals they spoke to at ITN [ITV News producers] involve behavior that is both inappropriate and intolerable.

‘The majority of incidents weren’t brought to ITV’s attention initially. However, when concerns have been expressed to ITV, appropriate actions have been taken.’

In the midst of the accusations, Coronation Street actress Vicky Entwistle expressed her backing for Gino on a platform once known as Twitter, while also criticizing ITV.

Vicky has criticized ITV before, as she referred to Coronation Street as a ‘cult’ last year and stated that the “scary and dominating managers” made her husband urge her to leave.

In the midst of accusations leveled at Gino, a woman has asserted that he made offensive, sexually suggestive remarks concerning his ITV colleague Holly Willoughby. Furthermore, she claims that her complaints from 2018 were disregarded by the network.

Gino, known for his frequent collaborations with Holly on “This Morning” and “Celebrity Juice,” is reported to have made a comment about being frequently inquired which of Holly and her television companion and close friend, Fearne Cotton, he would prefer to share a bed with.

As reported by The Sun, Gino expressed to the woman that if he could merge the faces of two individuals onto their bodies, he might consider it. However, he added that he would likely opt for Holly, as he believes he would enjoy spending time with her more.

A woman, whose identity remains unknown, expressed her distaste to a news outlet regarding the comments made by Gino, labeling them as vulgar and offensive. She also alleged that she had previously alerted ITV about his behavior back in 2018.

In an email to ITV’s CEO, Carolyn McCall, she stated that the individual in question was far from demonstrating integrity, honesty, or upholding family values.

She alleged that ITV ‘came back sharply, essentially telling me to go away’.

TopMob contacted ITV and representatives for Holly and Gino for comment at the time.

In the past, it’s been reported that some members of the This Morning team voiced concerns regarding Gino a decade ago. Several crew and production personnel are said to have brought up problems related to him directly to their superiors.

According to a source, it wasn’t hidden that Gino was challenging to collaborate with, and quite a few crew members felt apprehensive about being on the set alongside him.

He frequently made lighthearted, yet inappropriate remarks about his masculinity and sexually charged statements that often left others feeling uneasy.

He considered himself exceptionally skilled, or “The Talent,” and often asserted his authority forcefully. Many individuals perceived him as overbearing, and when they attempted to voice their concerns to higher-ups, they felt their concerns were disregarded.

ITV has terminated Gino following allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct over a period of twelve years.

According to recent reports, ITV has taken Gino’s shows off their schedule, but a source reveals that he has sworn not to collaborate with them ever again, according to TopMob.

Yet, ITV continues to face calls to disassociate more from the presenter since his programs are still accessible on their streaming service, ITVX.

It’s troubling to note that ITV persists in airing Giorgio Locatelli’s programs on ITVX, even after alleged complaints had been lodged about them. This statement comes from Dr. Charlotte Proudman, the head of Right to Equality.

This implies a harmful lesson to both victims and the broader profession: it suggests that commercial interests take precedence over holding prospective sexual offenders responsible.

ITV needs to provide an explanation as to how such incidents occurred and why women were dismissed and overlooked, thereby enabling sexual misconduct to persist unchecked.

A well-known Italian television personality, recognized for his playful screen character, finds himself in the middle of accusations made by many individuals, who have portrayed his reported behavior during the last 12 years as “upsetting,” “inappropriate,” and at times, “awful.

ITV News uncovered numerous accusations of improper conduct involving the chef during filming. His actions were deemed inappropriate and upsetting by those who made the claims.

Based on ITV News reports, it’s known that at least one production firm was made aware of recurring concerns about Gino’s conduct from employees, but chose to collaborate with him on more television productions anyway.

At least six times from 2018 to 2023, it’s been reported that issues concerning Gino’s conduct were brought up during television productions.

As reported by ITV News, an unidentified woman who worked alongside the chef in 2021 described him as “very aggressive.

She stated that the experience was a form of intimidation and misuse of authority, expressing fear during her time working with him in Italy.

He discarded every item he wasn’t going to keep by tossing it onto the floor near the team, making me have to gather them up piece by piece. The entire situation felt quite humiliating.

As a devoted follower, I voiced my concerns directly to a high-ranking official at Studio Ramsay, the production company overseen by the renowned chef, Gordon Ramsay, regarding his conduct during filming.

Gino has firmly denied all allegations, calling them ‘deeply upsetting’.

Responding to claims against him, Gino stated: “ITN News informed me that accusations have been brought up concerning my inappropriate behavior, some of which date back more than a decade. However, I was unaware of these issues beforehand, and I vehemently refute these allegations.

I don’t act in ways that might sadden or worry others. It’s just not my character. The account of events presented isn’t something I can identify with.

I’ve never heard these accusations before, and I’ve consistently received backing from top-tier executives. Additionally, I was given opportunities to appear on prominent television shows during the timeframe when it’s now being claimed I behaved improperly.
