Gilmore Girls’ Lauren Graham joins Scott Peterson in festive on-screen reunion

As a seasoned gamer of life with a soft spot for nostalgia, I must say that the recent reunion of Lauren Graham and Scott Peterson from Gilmore Girls in Walmart’s Christmas advert is like finding an elusive rare collectible in my gaming universe. It’s not every day you get to see your favorite characters return to their rightful places, especially when they tied the knot on Netflix’s A Year in the Life.

Actors Lauren Graham and Scott Patterson, known from the show Gilmore Girls, have come together once more for a fresh, holiday-themed production.

In a delightful twist, the pair are set to reenact their characters from the Netflix miniseries “A Year in the Life“, Lorelai Gilmore and Luke Danes (who were married in the series), for Walmart’s festive commercial airing in the United States.

The advertisement opens by introducing Sean Gunn’s character, Kirk Gleason, strolling through a wintry town square, en route to hand-deliver a Walmart parcel to Luke who is waiting at the coffee shop.

Immediately after he departs, Lorelai appears and requests a cup of coffee from her husband. In response, he presents a package, which she opens to discover a coffee maker inside.

“Awww, Luke. You shouldn’t have,” Lorelai said.

“I had to,” he responded. “You’re drinking me out of business.”

Additionally, you may have spotted a minstrel strumming on his guitar near the Stars Hollow sign, another subtle reference to the series.

In recent ads, bringing back the original cast members from popular shows and movies from the 2000s has been a common approach. For instance, there was the WhatsApp ad featuring the cast of Modern Family earlier this year, as well as last year’s Walmart Black Friday commercial that included the cast of Mean Girls.

One individual, specifically Rachel McAdams, opted not to participate during the later stages, openly admitting that she wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about filming a commercial when speaking candidly.

The movie seemed fantastic, but I’ve never done advertisements, and it didn’t seem like something I was comfortable with. To be honest, I wasn’t aware that everyone else was involved in it. Regarding a Mean Girls reunion, I would jump at the chance to reunite with my Plastics, but unfortunately, I found out about it later.
