Gillian Anderson praises “cool” new X-Files reboot as EastEnders star joins cast

Gillian Anderson has spoken highly of the new X-Files reboot, especially with the recent announcement of key cast members. The show will begin with an episode directed by Ryan Coogler, known for his work on Sinners and Black Panther.

Himesh Patel, known for his roles in EastEnders, Yesterday, Tenet, and Station Eleven, will star alongside another lead in a new show about FBI agents investigating strange and unexplainable events, according to Deadline.

He’ll be acting alongside Danielle Deadwyler, who was nominated for a BAFTA Award and has starred in films and the series Station Eleven, just like Patel. Deadwyler is known for her roles in Till and The Piano Lesson.

Gillian Anderson, who previously worked with David Duchovny on the original series, recently shared that she’s read the pilot script from Ryan Coogler and was very impressed with it.

Speaking at Awesome Con in Washington DC (as reported by Radio Times), she described the project as “special,” praising the lead as “a cool and talented guy.” She also noted that the script for the pilot episode was very well-written.
