Gigi Hadid Supports Ex-Stepfather’s Broadway Musical

Over the weekend, it was evident that Gigi Hadid maintains a good rapport with her ex-stepfather David Foster as she publicly backed his recent musical project.

Last Saturday, the 29-year-old model disclosed that she went to see the first night performance of the 75-year-old composer’s fresh Broadway musical, titled “Boop! The Musical.

The Betty Boop-themed music, composed by Foster and penned by Susan Birkenhead for the lyrics and Bob Martin for the script, resonated strongly with his former stepdaughter.

Gigi, whose mother Yolanda Hadid was one of David’s four wives, shared a picture from the Broadhurst Theatre audience, featuring Jasmine Amy Rogers, the star of Boop!, gracefully walking down an onstage staircase while holding a rose and receiving a standing ovation.

Gigi offered a rave review, writing over her photo: ‘NYC. Boop has landed. And she’s major.’

At the bottom of the post, David received another acknowledgment for his musical accomplishments, as he graced the opening night red carpet hand-in-hand with his wife, Katharine McPhee Foster.

‘Music by @davidfoster!!’ Gigi gushed. ‘Congratulations to all @boopthemusic ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥.’

It seems that the catwalk sensation was spotted at the event alongside renowned makeup artist Patrick Ta, and she shared one of his photos from the occasion on her Instagram Stories.

The person posted a snapshot of the playbill for Boop! The Musical, accompanied by a comment tagging Gigi Hadid with the sentiment “@gigihadid I was tearing up! This was absolutely incredible ❤️❤️ ❤️.

In her repost, she jokingly added that they were on a ‘DATE NIGHT 🍷.’

David participated alongside the show’s creative crew and actors during the final bow, and his joyful wave was visible to all.

Previously, he mingled with the famous guests of the event while he and Katharine strolled down the red carpet. Interestingly, Gigi chose a discreet arrival instead, forgoing the red carpet.

David and Gigi’s mother Yolanda were in a relationship for five years prior to their 2011 wedding. 

In 2015, they officially declared their separation, and the divorce proceedings lasted for two more years.

Yolanda divided her siblings – Gigi, Bella, and Anwar (who are younger) – with her former spouse Mohamed Hadid. However, David took on the role of a father figure or stepfather to all three of them.

Since the split, the families appear to have maintained fairly congenial relationships. 

Previously, I was married to B.J. Cook, Rebecca Dyer, and Linda Thompson, but in 2018, I became engaged to Katharine. The next year, we made it official and got married.

In February 2021, they welcomed their first child together, a son, Rennie, now four. 

Among David’s offspring, there is his eldest child, Allison Jones, aged 54, who entered the world when David was only 20. Initially, Allison was adopted by another family, but later she reestablished a connection with him and played a significant part in the David Foster Foundation.

Apart from Amy S. Foster (age 51), Sara Foster (age 43), Erin Foster (age 40), and Jordan Foster (age 37) are also among his other daughters.

Previously, Erin discussed that Gigi has managed to maintain relationships with her step-siblings during an episode of Watch What Happens Live.

She mentioned that Gigi privately messaged her the previous night, sharing that she had begun watching her popular Netflix romance series, Nobody Wants This. As for the show’s plot, she clarified that it’s only the parents who go through a divorce, while the children remain unaffected.

In September 2020, Gigi gave birth to her own child, a four-year-old named Khai, who she had with her ex-partner, Zayn Malik.

Recently, the high-profile model is known to be in a relationship with Bradley Cooper, the father of one with his former model partner, Irina Shayk.
