Gibbs goes rogue in NCIS: Origins season 1, episode 3 (Preview)

As a die-hard NCIS fan, I am beyond excited for the upcoming episode 3 of season 1 of NCIS: Origins! The prospect of young Gibbs, our fearless leader, taking matters into his own hands is a tantalizing glimpse into his past.

Gibbs doesn’t shy away from taking necessary actions to crack a case, and we’ve seen this in the initial series. It’s now time for us to witness that determination in action during season 1, episode 3 of NCIS: Origins set in the 1990s.

Following a two-part debut where we met a younger Gibbs and his crew, it became evident that he wasn’t entirely comfortable within the group. His psychology evaluation didn’t go as planned, causing concern among the director. Mike Franks might find himself retracting his statements about Gibbs being an ideal fit for the team after this turn of events.

Indeed, we’re well aware of the outcome – Gibbs remains with the team and eventually becomes the leader, which makes the story less suspenseful. Yet, the prospect of witnessing a younger Gibbs is certainly intriguing.

Gibbs has nothing to lose in NCIS: Origins season 1, episode 3

The narrative unfolds following the murders of Kelly and Shannon, characters who were central to Gibbs’ life. Given his deep bond with them, it’s understandable that their loss left him disoriented. Consequently, it’s not surprising in the promotional material that he appears to have nothing more to lose. A man bereft of anything to lose can be a formidable force, as he may not consider the potential outcomes of his actions.

It appears that this installment involves a murder linked to Camp Pendleton, causing the squad to embark on a journey to San Diego. During their stay, Gibbs opts to handle the matter independently, leading to potential displeasure among the remaining team members.

As a devoted fan, I’m eagerly anticipating an intriguing development: Mike Franks is about to receive a visit from none other than Jackson Gibbs. Though it’s no secret that Jackson was destined to be part of our storyline, the challenge lies in bringing him and Gibbs together on screen given the established canon. To tackle this conundrum, the show creators have devised an ingenious solution – Jackson will be meeting Mike Franks, Mike being my son’s boss. This way, we get to enjoy the rich dynamics between these iconic characters without compromising the established narrative.
