Ghosts star shares behind-the-scenes look at “brilliant” movie as filming begins

Martha Howe-Douglas, who plays a role in the show Ghosts, recently gave fans a peek at the making of the upcoming movie, Ghosts: The Possession of Button House. Filming is currently underway in Surrey.

Following the 2023 Christmas special, The Possession of Button House brings viewers back to the haunted mansion in late February. Lolly Adefope, Charlotte Ritchie, and Kiell Smith-Bynoe reprise their roles as Kitty, Alison, and Mike.

The beloved ghosts of Button House are coming to the big screen in a new movie! The team behind the hit show Ghosts – Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard, and Ben Willbond – wrote the film and will all be returning to play their familiar characters.

Actress Lady Button shared behind-the-scenes photos of the movie’s props and trailers with her fans. She also subtly hinted at the return of the character Pat Butcher (played by Howick) with a picture showing his scout uniform. The series of photos culminated in a shot of the taxidermied bear that famously frightened Robin the caveman (Rickard) in season four.

We originally thought the last series of the show would be the end, and we didn’t intend to revisit the story. However, when we came up with a new idea, we were all so enthusiastic that we couldn’t help but return to Button House for another adventure, as the writers and creators previously explained.

Simon Hynd, the director of Ghosts, helms the new film, which will be released by Lionsgate. Marie-Claire Benson, head of Lionsgate UK’s Motion Picture Group, shared her excitement about bringing the world of Ghosts to the big screen, stating that they are proud to support British filmmakers and collaborate with the talented Ghosts team to showcase Button House in UK cinemas.
