Ghosts Is Putting Trevor In The Pants-Free Spotlight This Fall, But I’m More Excited For The Upcoming Halloween Episode

The comedy series Ghosts will return to CBS in 2025, just in time for its annual Halloween episode. Season 5 will kick off with “Halloween 5: The Mummy,” and a couple of episodes featuring Trevor (Asher Grodman) will follow shortly after in November. I’m really excited to see what the show does for Halloween this year!

Halloween 5: The Mummy

I really love the Halloween episodes of Ghosts – they’re some of the best in the whole show, as I realized while catching up before Season 5. The Season 2 Halloween episode is probably my absolute favorite. It’s great seeing Hetty confront her past, and it features Randy, the hilarious roller-blading pickle, who hasn’t appeared since Sam and Jay’s party that year, which is a shame.

As a longtime fan, I remember some pretty wild Halloweens on this show! There was the time the gazebo went up in flames thanks to some ghosts (Season 1), then Carol shockingly died at a party (Season 3), and even Sam facing a ghost trial for being a witch (Season 4)! Now, CBS is teasing that Sam and Jay’s Halloween this year – Season 5 – is going to be totally different from anything we’ve seen before, and I’m so ready to find out what happens!

Sam and Jay’s Halloween takes a spooky turn when they accidentally unleash a mummy ghost.

I’m wondering if Sam, the ghosts, and Jay will hold their yearly séance, and if it will accidentally wake up the mummy ghost. If it’s the same mummy Jay tried to sell at a yard sale last Halloween, Hetty says it’s authentic and dates back to when she lived in Woodstone. Something has apparently been preventing the ghost inside from being released for over a hundred years. Check out the preview to see what happens!

I wonder if the material used to line the Woodstone vault – the one that held Elias for so long – was also used in the mummy’s sarcophagus, which might explain why he couldn’t escape and join the other ghosts. It’s a bit of a theory, but I’ll be watching on CBS this Thursday, October 30th at 8:30 p.m. ET to find out! You can also stream it the next day with a Paramount+ subscription.

Trevor Enters The Spotlight

Unlike many shows, Ghosts typically tells self-contained stories each episode. However, it looks like that might change for the character Trevor after the Halloween episode. Actor Asher Grodman recently shared that his costume is quite rare, and he’ll be central to the November 6th episode, titled “Bring Your Daughter to Work Day,” which features a return appearance by Gideon Adlon as his daughter, Abby. According to CBS:

Trevor wants to be closer to his daughter, Abby (Gideon Adlon), so he helps her get a job at Jay’s restaurant.

The next episode’s title, “T-Daddy,” immediately signals that it will heavily focus on Trevor, even before considering any details about Abby’s role. I’m hoping Trevor actually says the title aloud, especially in front of Hetty! The thought of Hetty’s disapproving reactions is incredibly appealing. Here’s what CBS has to say about it:

Trevor and his daughter are at odds because he wants her to pursue a career in finance, but she’s passionate about poetry. At the same time, Jay is dealing with problems at the restaurant as his workers begin to protest.

You can catch “T-Daddy” on CBS Thursday, November 13th at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time, right after “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.” If you’ve missed any episodes, I highly recommend watching them on Paramount+. I’m especially hoping the Halloween episode includes a nod to the original 1999 film The Mummy with Brendan Fraser.
