As a dedicated gamer and movie enthusiast, I’m always on the lookout for new releases to add to my collection or streaming queue. But the latest addition to the Ghostbusters franchise, “Frozen Empire,” has left me feeling frustrated and disappointed as a UK viewer.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is now available to watch on Netflix, but there’s a catch.
In the United States, subscribers of the streaming service can access the second installment of Sony’s franchise resurrection, while those in the UK unfortunately cannot watch it online at present.
After the cinema run for a film has ended, our studio typically makes it available on Netflix US. This is similar to what happened with “Madame Web” and “Anyone But You”.
In the UK, it’s anticipated that Sky Cinema/Sky Go and NOW are the most probable platforms to premiere the movie first. However, this is expected to occur no earlier than September based on previous patterns.

During this time, UK movie enthusiasts can purchase the film digitally from platforms like Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store, and other digital marketplaces.
The movie earned over $200 million in ticket sales, pushing the franchise total above $1 billion. However, reactions from critics have been varied, with the film now holding a Rotten Tomatoes score of 42% based on reviews.
The review from Digital Spy states that the latest film is a notch better than “Afterlife” as it reduces its dependence on the past, even though it still holds some traces of it. The production boasts a stronger confidence in combining heartwarming frights with humor.

Earlier this year, director Gil Kenan hinted at a potential follow-up movie to Frozen Empire.
As a passionate gamer, I can’t help but feel deeply connected to the Spengler family in this movie. Their journey is far from over, and I’m eagerly anticipating sharing their adventures with audiences. The story has so much potential for growth, and I truly hope everyone will join us on this captivating experience.
“And if they do, then I really hope that we can continue this story.”
I’m thrilled to share that I can now purchase Ghostbusters: Afterlife digitally and instantly add it to my collection! For those based in the US, you can even stream it on Netflix. What a great way to spend an evening with some paranormal entertainment!
