Ghost introduces new Papa on fantastic lead-in to new album

Although it may seem like Ghost hasn’t released a studio album in three years, they actually have. This could be because they produced an exceptional live album that complemented a superb concert film titled “Rite Here Rite Now“. This masterpiece came out last July. Moreover, the band appears to have been on tour for quite some time as well.

It’s exciting that Ghost will be touring with a new album, titled “Skeletá“, following their live performances led by Tobias Forge and his team. The first single from the album, “Satanized”, is now available to watch on YouTube and other platforms, as well as stream on your preferred service.

Instead, fans are given an early sneak peek at the fresh incarnation of Papa, with Papa V making his grand entrance at the video’s end. Noticeably different and updated, this new version seems to hint at a change in direction for the band’s music. It is speculated that their upcoming album will convey a more intimate, personal feel rather than presenting songs as third-party accounts.

Ghost set to release a new album in April

Indeed, Ghost has always managed to captivate fans by blending elements of apparent Satanism with hints of Christianity. It’s not that their music is suitable for Sunday mornings, but rather, their portrayal of a struggle between good and evil has been an integral part of their image.

The new album also includes this: following “Satanized” in the playlist, there’s a track called “Guiding Lights.” The album cover features both sunrise and sunset images, symbolizing their differences, which could suggest a significant motif throughout the album.

Based on the initial track, fans of Ghost can anticipate another fantastic album. You won’t have to wait long to listen to it, as the release date for Skeletá has been set for April 25, 2025.

Skeletá tracklist:

  • 1. “Peacefield”
  • 2. “Lachryma”
  • 3. “Satanized”
  • 4. “Guiding Lights”
  • 5. “De Profundis Borealis”
  • 6. “Cenotaph”
  • 7. “Missilia Amori”
  • 8. “Marks of the Evil One”
  • 9. “Umbra”
