Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton ‘cool’ their budding romance after Welsh star is spotted on notorious dating app during lads’ trip to Australia – and friends admit he’s ‘on the prowl Down Under’

Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones appear to have taken a break from their relationship, as the Welshman has been seen using the celebrity dating platform, Raya.

Over the past few months, the co-hosts of Morning Live have developed a stronger bond as they’ve spent more time together off the set, such as a relaxing spa vacation together.

In May, TopMob disclosed that the playful on-screen chemistry between these two individuals had evolved into a stronger bond, as they exhibited couple-like behavior at a charity function the previous year, which was noticeable due to their affectionate interactions with one another.

Additionally, fueling curiosity about their clandestine affair, neither representative was willing to discuss the pair’s romantic status when asked if they might be dating, following rumors that they had exited the BAFTA TV Awards side by side.

Contrarily, Gethin, aged 47, dealt a surprising setback to Morning Live viewers hoping to see him and Helen, at 42 years old, officially acknowledge their romantic relationship.

The supporter of rugby has updated his Raya profile’s location to signal potential matches that he is currently in Australia, as he has been enjoying the British Lions games there with a bunch of fellow men.

A source confided: ‘Gethin has been spotted in Australia, which seems to indicate an end to his relationship with Helen.’

‘He’s there with pals but keen to meet other women.

In their relationship, Helen wouldn’t tolerate such behavior, given how deeply he admires her. He holds her in high regard, so he wouldn’t do anything secretly without her knowledge.

Despite the growing bond between them, there has been a noticeable decline recently, leaving their supporters disappointed and saddened, as they had hoped for a long-term relationship.

Since her prominent split with husband Richie Myler in 2022, Helen has been living as a solo parent to their three kids: Ernie, who is nine years old, Louis, aged eight, and Elsie, a three-year-old.

The 34-year-old rugby league player ended his nine-year marriage with Helen. On Instagram, she expressed her sadness about him leaving their shared household.

Richie is now in a relationship with Stephanie Thirkill, who is the daughter of Leeds Rhinos’ president, Andrew Thirkill. They’ve had two kids together, named Olivia and Freddie.

Meanwhile, Gethin has been unattached for the past two years following a brief romance with popular First Dates personality, Cici Coleman, back in 2023.

In the past, he was involved in relationships with Lucy Mecklenburgh from TOWIE in 2014 and Katja Zwara, a model from Germany, in 2017.

However, the longest and most significant romantic involvement in his life was a four-year relationship (from 2007) with the renowned Welsh opera artist, Katherine Jenkins.

In February 2011, the presenter suggested getting engaged, but they ended their relationship by December of the same year.

It’s thought that Gethin provided a strong support for Helen following the end of her marriage, as they frequently spent time together in social settings, avoiding the limelight.

During the week, they film Morning Live in Salford, which is located in Manchester. Besides attending major award ceremonies together, this television pairing has also been seen at various events with their friends and relatives.

Last April, they participated in a unique charity gathering modeled after “Strictly Come Dancing,” known as the Burrow Strictly Ball. This event was established by Rob Burrow’s sisters, Jo and Claire, in memory of their late legendary rugby league star brother, to support the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

At the event, it was quite apparent that Helen and Gethin were a couple. They were seen in the company of Helen’s close friends, and their bond was unmistakable.

During the very same month, Gethin was captured on camera gently caressing Helen’s hand, enclosed around his arm, at the TV Choice Awards event.

At the BAFTA TV Awards in May, their affectionate or tactile interactions with one another sparked curiosity yet again.

According to a source from the TV, it’s been reported that Helen and Gethin share a very strong professional bond, and there’s a growing sentiment that their friendship might be deepening into something more meaningful.

They’re both eager to maintain secrecy about it, trying to steer clear of public attention. Yet, their strong bond, evident both in front of and behind the camera, cannot be dismissed.

Next month, I couldn’t help but catch sight of my favorite Morning Live hosts, arm-in-arm and beaming with love, making their way to a serene country club and spa. But the excitement didn’t stop there! In Manchester, they were spotted cruising together on Gethin’s motorcycle – an image that has left me absolutely thrilled as an ardent fan!
