After what felt like an eternity of waiting, Apple TV+ has finally unveiled the release date for the much-anticipated second season of Surface. With its gripping narrative, captivating performances, and a cliffhanger that left me on the edge of my seat, I’m eagerly counting down the days until February 21, 2025.
Finally, the moment we’ve all been anticipating is here! There haven’t been many announcements about the release date of season 2 of Surface, starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw. But now, Apple TV+ has given us a timeframe to keep us excited. And guess what? Not only do we know when this psychological thriller will be back, but we also have some exclusive sneak peeks to share!
The second season of the show “Surface” debuts on Apple TV+ this coming Friday, Feb 21, 2025, with its premiere episode. Each week, a new episode from the 8-episode series will be made available until the final episode airs on April 11, 2025. This season has the same number of episodes as the first one. Here’s the release schedule:

In our previous encounter, I found myself as Sophie (Mbatha-Raw), having orchestrated a staged suicide, abandoning my husband James (Oliver Jackson-Cohen). The allure of London, my hometown, became irresistible, as I yearned to uncover the identity of the enigmatic woman I’ve been recalling, Eliza (Millie Brady), and explore the mysterious bond we share. As hinted in the season 1 finale, it appears that our paths have intersected once more, as evidenced by the intense gaze exchanged between us in the image above.
In season 2 of the show Surface, Sophie will continue her journey in London as she delves into her past, which may involve mingling with high-class British society where she could be linked to a wealthy heiress – but is it Eliza or someone else? The plot thickens when a reporter reappears in her life, having previously collaborated with Sophie on a sensational exposé about the very individuals she’s now associating with. Ahh!
Mbatha-Raw, Jackson-Cohen, and Brady will be rejoining the cast, which implies that James won’t be departing from the show! I can’t wait to see what part he takes on during the second season. Given this picture seems like a flashback scene, I speculate it might be one, possibly? However, here is the sneak peek of Cohen in Season 2.
In addition to the familiar faces, there are several new characters joining the story this time: Phil Dunster, Gavin Drea, Rupert Graves, Tara Fitzgerald, Nina Sosanya, Joely Richardson, and Freida Pinto. Upon first glance, it appears that Pinto’s character might be a friend, while Dunster’s seems to hint at an adversary with his rather ominous expression. I can hardly wait! Ready for more glimpses?
