Shiny Scatterbug is finally coming to Pokémon GO.
As a fellow enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the “Scattered to the Winds” event in Pokémon GO is set to introduce the radiant Shiny Scatterbug! This long-awaited debut comes with various regional variations that we can’t wait to add to our collections. For years, trainers have been yearning for a Shiny Scatterbug, and finally, those who have completed their Vivillon Collections will find something truly captivating to explore.
So, here is everything you need to know about the Scattered to the Winds event in Pokémon GO.
Pokémon GO Scattered to the Winds event
The “Scattered to the Winds” occasion is set to take place from Tuesday, February 18, starting at 10:00 a.m., and continue until Thursday, February 20, 2025, concluding at 8:00 p.m., in local time.
Event Bonuses
The following bonuses will be avaliable during the event:
- 2× XP for spinning a PokéStop.
- 5× XP for spinning a PokéStop for the first time.
- Open up to 40 Gifts per day.
- Open up to 60 Gifts per day if you have purchased the Eggs-pedition Access: February ticket.
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Pidgey.
Long awaited Shiny Scatterbug debut
At the onset of this event, the radiant creatures Spewpa and Vivillon will have their first shiny appearances in Pokémon GO! To encounter these sparkling critters, don’t forget to attach travel mementos (postcards) from trainers worldwide. The official Pokémon GO Blog suggests that you might find a higher probability of discovering Shiny Scatterbug with the help of those postcards, so make sure to pin them!
Event Wild Encounters
In the Pokémon GO game, during the Scattered to the Winds event, you’ll notice an increased appearance of the following Pokémon in the wild.
- Caterpie
- Pidgey
- Spearow
- Wurmple
- Starly
As a dedicated Pokémon trainer, I want to share some exciting news: Several Pokémons out there can actually be found in their rare, shiny form! And Keep your eyes peeled, as it could be as likely as 1 out of every 64 regular encounters. Happy hunting, trainers!
Scattered to the Winds Pokémon GO Paid Timed Research
At the Scattered to the Winds occasion, similar to how it works in Pokémon GO, you’ll receive a Time-limited Research Ticket as part of the event. This ticket, priced at $5 million, comes packed with the following perks:
- 16,500 Stardust
- Three Rare Candies
- An event-themed avatar pose
- Encounters with event-themed Pokémon
- And more!
This seems a little expensive for the rewards promised, unless you really like the avatar pose!
Guaranteed Lucky Trades
At the onset of this event, the minimum number of Lucky Pokémons a trainer can obtain through trading will increase from 25 to 35. Furthermore, starting from February 18th, any Pokémon traded which has been in a trainer’s storage since 2019 is guaranteed to transform into a Lucky Pokémon until the maximum limit is reached. Don’t forget to review your oldest Pokémons!
