98-year-old renowned environmentalist is being honored by a gathering of A-listers for his newest documentary, set to debut on his 99th birthday this coming Thursday.
Sir David’s new film is the ‘greatest message he’s ever told’, says its producer.

With David Attenborough, you’ll venture deeper than ever before into what he calls “the most vital region on our planet” – the oceans.
Following considerable harm from fishing and pollution, the argument suggests that the sea stands at a critical juncture. However, it possesses the ability to recover and thrive once more.
Toby Nowlan, the film’s producer, stated that this isn’t just about witnessing fresh natural history behaviors; it’s the most significant message he’s ever shared.
Unprecedented video recordings of the destruction wrought by bottom trawling, a widespread fishing method, on ocean floors are reportedly included in this movie.
The images show the impact of the chains trawlers tow, scraping the ocean floor, which in turn drives disturbed marine life towards the nets following behind.
The procedure additionally discharges large quantities of carbon dioxide into the ocean, a factor that increases global temperatures.
Sir David will explore inspiring tales of ocean restoration in places that have prohibited harmful fishing, like the Isle of Arran, Scotland and Hawaii.
The broadcasting icon contends that ‘the ocean can recover faster than we can ever imagine’.

However, Attenborough points out that time is running short, implying that he might not witness the ocean’s salvation, given his advancing age.
In the emotional scene from the movie preview, he expressed that when he initially witnessed the ocean as a young lad, it was perceived as an immense, untouched territory waiting to be conquered and dominated for mankind’s advantage.
‘Now, as I approach the end of my life, we know the opposite is true.
After spending almost a century on Earth, I’ve come to realize that the most vital spot on our planet isn’t found on land, but rather in the ocean.
He mentioned: ‘Today, its state is so weak that I’d struggle not to lose optimism if not for this truly astonishing finding.’
‘If we save the sea, we save our world.
‘After a lifetime of filming our planet, I’m sure nothing is more important.’
Sir David also spoke of his many years lived, sharing tales of remarkable ocean discoveries throughout the decades while emphasizing the significance of maintaining the well-being of our oceans.

He stated: “My life span falls within the golden era of ocean exploration. During the past century, researchers and adventurers have unveiled astounding new marine species, breathtaking migrations, and intricate, captivating ecosystems that surpassed my wildest youthful imaginations.
In this movie, we’ll reveal some fascinating findings, delve into the reasons behind the deterioration of our oceans, and crucially, demonstrate ways to revitalize them. This might just be the turning point for positive change.
Almost all countries around the globe have concurred, in writing, to strive for this basic goal and safeguard approximately one-third of our oceans.
‘Together, we now face the challenge of making it happen.’
