Georgie Tunny Lands Major TV Gig
Georgie Tunny is making moves in the TV world.
The Project star has landed a new gig narrating the upcoming series of House Hunters Australia.
The 34-year-old said she is utterly delighted to be part of the Aussie version of the US show.
She expressed her enthusiasm to Yahoo Lifestyle, saying, “For years, I’ve been a dedicated fan of House Hunters. When the chance arose for an Australian version, my excitement soared because I might finally get to watch it!
‘And now being involved and narrating it, it’s a pinch-me moment.’
Georgie mentions that she and her partner, Rob Mills, regularly watch the American edition of the show from home. They’ve developed this habit because they both grew up enjoying the series alongside their family members.
‘I would force Rob to watch it as well and now he’s fall in love with it too,’ she said.
Georgie has recently obtained a new position, which follows personnel adjustments at The Project following several years of challenges at the news program.
Come January, I learned from Channel Ten that one cherished face on The Project panel won’t be gracing our screens in 2025. Seems like the network is still shaking things up, making some major adjustments to the beloved talk show.
The show confirmed that comedian Michael Hing, aged 39, will not appear on it for this year, having joined the program in 2023 as a co-panelist earlier.
Over the past two years, we’ve greatly enjoyed Michael Hing’s sharp humor and entertaining antics as a recurring guest on The Project, as expressed in their official statement.
We hope that Michael’s nationwide stand-up tour will bring him great success! We can’t wait to have him back here with us for more shows after his gigs in 2025.
Additionally, Hing also shared this information across various social platforms, expressing that he had been working diligently towards his upcoming Australian stand-up comedy tour spanning from February to July.
His most recent appearance on the long-running series was in mid-November.

The network also revealed that The Project panel would be reduced to three co-panelists on Fridays.
Starting from February 2025, Fridays will be different on The Project! Every Friday evening, tune in to watch Rove McManus, Georgie Tunny, and Susie Youssef at The Project desk. They’ll help you wind down from the workweek as the weekend festivities kick off.
Prepare for the same mix of humor, charisma, and fresh news updates, along with room for unplanned, lively moments unique to Fridays. It concludes your workweek in style.
The network didn’t provide explanations for its decision to shrink its panel, however, it could potentially be a cost-saving action in line with Rove McManus’ promise to lighten the news focus on Friday episodes.
McManus has been an integral part of The Project ever since its inception back in 2009. Not only was he instrumental in launching the series, but he also established and still oversees its development through his production company, Roving Enterprises.
In October, the experienced host revealed significant plans regarding his continued presence on the popular Channel Ten news program during an uncommon one-on-one conversation.
During an informal conversation with Jordy Lucas and Alexandria Funnell on their That’s Showbiz, Baby podcast, the comedian discussed his forthcoming ventures.
Showing signs of having numerous ongoing projects, the three-time Gold Logie recipient hinted playfully that his position at The Project might turn out to be a long-term arrangement.

Over time, Rove frequently appeared as a temporary host on the program, and even came back in 2023. However, he wasn’t anticipating that this role would turn into a long-term position.
Reflecting on recent events, I found myself unexpectedly returning to a familiar path. It wasn’t an initiative of mine, rather, I was approached and felt compelled to step in temporarily towards the tail-end of the previous year.
After that, the conversation shifted towards: ‘Should we continue on with this year?’, and now we find ourselves discussing the upcoming year instead.
2025 will see Channel Ten commence the process of sharing full episodes of The Project on their YouTube channel.
The producers announced a significant update by sharing a post on their social media platform, which also contained a link directing users to their official YouTube channel for more details.
‘New for 2025: You can watch The Project in full on You Tube,’ the network announcement said.
The latest broadcast, which included parts about the Golden Globes awards and stand-up comic Akmal Saleh, was fully aired on the streaming service.
The well-known news discussion show frequently shares clips and segments from its broadcasts on popular social media sites like X and Instagram, earning considerable attention online.
The panel show has also undergone an audience decline ever since changing up its format.
The issues with ratings occur alongside increasing scrutiny over The Project’s perceived left-leaning perspective and notable exits by prominent hosts such as Carrie Bickmore, Peter Helliar, and Lisa Wilkinson.
