Georgia Kousoulou rushes newborn daughter Gigi to A&E following terrifying health scare
As a mother of two myself, I can truly empathize with Georgia Kousoulou’s recent ordeal with her newborn daughter Gigi’s health scare. It’s heartbreaking to see my fellow mom going through such a tough time, especially when it comes to the well-being of our little ones. Bronchitis in babies can be scary, and I know all too well that the sleepless nights and constant worry are not easy to bear.
Georgia Kousoulou disclosed that she urgently took her newborn daughter Gigi to the emergency room on Monday evening due to a worrying health issue, as she detailed in a social media post.
The former TOWIE star, 33, welcomed her second child with husband Tommy Mallet, 31, last month.
In a hurry, Georgia took Gigi to the hospital as she had contracted bronchitis, and they both have a shared two-year-old son named Brody with Tommy.
Bronchitis is inflammation of the airways in the lungs that is usually caused by an infection. It often gets better without treatment in around 3 weeks.
She wrote: “My little girl isn’t feeling well [crying emoji]. We have to go to the emergency room and she has bronchitis. It’s the worst when they’re so tiny!
On Tuesday, Georgia posted an optimistic health report regarding Gigi, stating: “Thanks everyone for reaching out about Gigi. She’s on the mend, but bronchitis isn’t something to take lightly, it’s really tough. It’s quite frightening, as you can tell I’m still in my pajamas.
Currently, my mother is present, while Tom’s father is downstairs. Previously, I had Tom’s mother visit, Brody isn’t attending school due to Christmas, and I’m trying to keep him from getting sick now. Taking care of a newborn and a toddler can be incredibly challenging.
For the past night, I’ve found myself unable to sleep as I watched her taking shallow breaths. If you’ve ever dealt with a child afflicted by bronchitis, you can surely understand my predicament – they struggle for each breath in a way that is far from comfortable, truly distressing.
She mentioned that she feeds frequently in small amounts, continually monitors her temperature, and is constantly observing her breathing patterns.
Her shallow breaths were slightly noticeable, yet not very deep. I’m merely maintaining her upright position for now. That’s the best support I can offer at this moment.
Following Georgia’s heartwarming post, which showed the sweet encounter between Brody and their newborn daughter for the first time.
The boy smiled brightly at Gigi, offering a thumbs-up, all the while gently holding her. Meanwhile, Gigi snuggled herself comfortably within a soft, pastel pink wrap.
In a playful manner, Little Gigi adorned a pink ribbon on her head, making herself quite photogenic. For the snapshot, she even stuck her tongue out mischievously.
Titling the heartwarming instance, Georgia wrote: ‘There’s nothing quite like this sensation. Thanks for all the affection.’
Last month, Georgia announced the arrival of her new baby on Instagram, writing: ‘Meet GIGI Fordham, born on November 22nd, weighing 8 pounds 12 ounces. Our precious daughter, we are absolutely smitten, our hearts are overflowing with love. Thank you God for granting us this blessing.’
Georgia announced her pregnancy back in May, one year after she tragically suffered a miscarriage.
Taking to Instagram to announce the news, she wrote: ‘Our little rainbow baby due December. Words can’t express the emotions we have, we have prayed, wished & with a little help it’s happened..
I am deeply grateful to my incredible team. Rehan Salim, your expertise in IVF is unmatched, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have crossed paths with you. As for Michelle, my exceptional nurse, I couldn’t have made it through this journey without your dedicated assistance at every step.
‘These guys made my experience with IVF so much better than I could of [sic] even imagined.
I must admit, I was quite apprehensive with all the stories I’d heard prior, but they turned out to be truly exceptional and guided me every step of the way. A heartfelt thank you for such a priceless present – the greatest gift of all.
To those observing who may be going through tough times, let me assure you that I empathize with your struggles and share in your feelings. I hope this message does not stir any unwanted emotions within you. I understand how challenging it can be to encounter new announcements. Remember, you are never alone, and I encourage you not to lose faith.
Previously, Georgia expressed that she would never fully recover from the profound sense of grief she experienced following the loss of her baby during a heartbreaking miscarriage at 12 weeks.
The star began undergoing treatment, dealing with emotional triggers and feeling exhausted due to the weight of grief.
