George Clooney’s $250K Lake Como Fundraiser Shocks Fans

In August, George Clooney and his spouse Amal are set to organize an extravagant charity event at Italy’s Lake Como.

Actor Michael Clayton, aged 63, with his newly colored locks, and Amal Clooney, a British-Lebanese attorney of age 47, will preside over a five-day affair for their Clooney Foundation for Justice.

16 individuals will attend the event, each needing to contribute at least $60,000 to the foundation, while the cost for a room starts from $173,000, according to Variety’s report.

As a devoted follower, I’m thrilled to share that you’ll be staying in the Passalacqua Hotel – a captivating 18th-century villa that boasts stunning views of the lake. This land was once under the patronage of Pope Innocent XI, adding an extra layer of historical charm to your stay.

The gathering, orchestrated by the Satopia Group, is set to welcome altruistic attendees with a fascination for uncovering the awe-inspiring facets of Lake Como, as stated by CEO Emma Ponsonby.

To guarantee an immediate effect from every supporter’s generosity, the required minimum donation has been established, as stated in the promotional materials. The ultimate aim is to surpass a fundraising target of over one million dollars.

On the third day of the event, guests are invited to partake in a private ‘garden celebration’ hosted by the charming Hollywood silver fox and his lovely spouse.

Instead, contrary to expectation, the garden party won’t take place at Villa Oleandra, the residence of 23 years that Clooney owns, which features 25 rooms and a tennis court.

Notable aspects of the five-day, four-night event feature intimate dinners with the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s team, delectable dinners crafted by renowned chefs, scenic boat excursions, prospects for extended collaboration with the Foundation, along with stimulating conversations about philanthropy and justice.

A meal is planned at the iconic Villa del Balbianello, a location that has been used in the filming of not one but two blockbusters – Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Casino Royale.

Guests will also be treated to ‘an enchanting evening at Teatro Sociale di Como.’

Live music and shows will intersperse the event, highlighting storytelling, melodies, and creative self-expression as integral parts of our journey towards justice.

There are still slots available for interested guests.

Ponsonby pointed out that those who have registered are either actively involved or have a personal stake in managing their own charitable organizations.

As a dedicated follower, I understand that they have specific goals they’re striving towards. They are keen on partnering with the Clooney Foundation to achieve these objectives together.

She mentioned that attendees can expect the occasion to provide a unique perspective on Como, as if seen through the lenses of George and Amal. The aim is for everyone to grasp why these two have such fondness for this location.

She described the Lake Como fundraiser as a significantly more active or dynamic event compared to the Clooney Foundation’s yearly Albie Awards in New York, which acknowledge justice advocates.

Founded in 2016, the Clooney Foundation for Justice operates in 40 countries.

In the year 2022, as per tax records, the Foundation received around $10 million in donations and grants, and utilized approximately $4 million for their programs.

In addition to their Italian villa, the Clooneys purchased a home in the South of France in 2021.

It comes with 425 acres, including an olive grove, vineyard, tennis court and boules pitch.

The 18th-century French residence stands nestled amidst the rolling hills of the countryside, situated between Marseilles and Cannes, in an area famously called ‘Green Provence’.

The home offers more space for the couple’s 7-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella.

Previously, a local source stated that ‘Alexander and Ella find Como too limited for their needs. The town lacks sufficient space for them to engage in their preferred pastimes such as horseback riding, unlike in France where they have endless opportunities.’

Though he will be in Italy this August, George is currently busy working in New York City.

On Tuesday, he was spotted exiting and displaying his freshly colored hairdo. This revelation came a day after a sneak peek at his upcoming Broadway production, “Good Night and Good Luck.” It’s worth noting that he had previously confessed his apprehensions about his wife, Amal, disliking the new style he adopted.

His excursion follows him expressing worries that Amal and their children didn’t like his recent hairstyle, which drew some surprise during his visit to New York City over the weekend.

During an interview with The New York Times in February, George commented, “My wife probably won’t like it, as nothing seems to age a person more than a man of advanced years dying his hair.

‘My kids are going to just laugh at me nonstop.’

The Academy Award-winner and the British-Lebanese lawyer have been married since 2014.

In the television series, the actor is set to play the role of CBS journalist Edward R. Murrow. To match his character’s appearance, he has had to color his naturally salt-and-pepper hair a darker brown.

In the new play, the actor and filmmaker will be starring as the legendary journalist Edward.

In the 2005 movie, David Strathairn starred prominently, whereas George Clooney appeared in a secondary role as CBS President Fred Friendly; he also contributed to the production work off-camera.
