George Clooney Shares Filming Update on Long-Awaited Heist Franchise Sequel

George Clooney recently shared news about the upcoming *Ocean’s Fourteen* film, suggesting when fans might see a new installment featuring Danny Ocean. The *Ocean’s* movies, originally based on a classic film from 1960, have been a reliable success for Warner Bros. Clooney starred in three films, and Sandra Bullock led a spin-off in 2018. While a prequel with Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie was considered, plans for *Ocean’s Fourteen* – bringing back Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts – gained momentum in 2024.

George Clooney recently told *E! News* that the budget for *Ocean’s Fourteen* has been approved by Warner Bros., and they’re now working on scheduling. He said the main hurdle is finding a start date. Clooney estimates filming will likely begin in nine to ten months.

When Can Fans Expect To See ‘Ocean’s Fourteen’ in Theaters

Warner Bros.

According to George Clooney, filming for *Ocean’s Fourteen* is expected to start in July or August 2026. This suggests the movie could be released in 2027, which would be two decades after *Ocean’s Thirteen*, the last film where Clooney played Danny Ocean. It will be fascinating to see how the filmmakers address the fact that *Ocean’s 8* showed Danny Ocean as being deceased.

David Leitch, the director of films like *The Fall Guy* and *Deadpool 2*, will direct *Ocean’s Fourteen*. He’s taking over from Steven Soderbergh, who directed the first three *Ocean’s* movies. Gary Ross, known for *The Hunger Games*, directed *Ocean’s 8*. Though the original *Ocean’s Eleven* was the biggest success, earning $450 million worldwide, all the films have been profitable for Warner Bros. Bringing back stars like Clooney, Pitt, Damon, and Roberts for a new *Ocean’s* movie is expected to appeal to fans and be a box office success.

As a huge fan of the *Ocean’s* movies, one of the things I’m most curious about is who will join the team this time around! It sounds like most of the original eleven are expected back, but sadly we lost Bernie Mac and Carl Reiner, which leaves a couple of spots open. Julia Roberts already filled one of those in *Ocean’s Twelve*, but there are still four team members to be announced. I’m really hoping Sandra Bullock comes back as Danny Ocean’s sister, Deborah – it would be amazing to see her and George Clooney work together again! And that could mean we see Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, or any of the other fantastic actresses from *Ocean’s 8* return, too. The possibilities are so exciting!
