George Clooney Embraces Grey Glory Again After ‘Cringey’ Dye Disaster!

George Clooney is rocking his natural grey roots again months after debuting his ‘cringey’ dye job.

In March, the actor, aged 64, changed his hair color to a rich brown to portray Edward R. Murrow in the live-action rendition of the 2005 movie “Good Night, and Good Luck” on stage.

George Clooney, who has just been nominated for a Tony Award, once confessed that his wife Amal didn’t particularly appreciate his earlier dark-haired look.

On Tuesday, George Clooney’s distinctive salt-and-pepper hair style reappeared slightly, as he stepped into the Winter Garden Theatre located in New York City.

With a white baseball cap from the Bronx, New York, adorning his head, Clooney sported distinctly gray sideburns and neck hair.

He paired his hat with a black leather jacket, khaki trousers, Adidas shoes, and sunglasses tinted blue.

Outside the theater, the actor from Ocean’s Eleven appeared cheerful, waving enthusiastically at both fans and cameras.

George Clooney had a security officer and a bodyguard with him while getting ready for his matinee appearance on Broadway, a role that ends in early June.

His visit to New York City occurred not long ago following the disclosure that Clooney received his initial nomination for a Tony Award, marking his Broadway debut in the play “Good Night, And Good Luck.

In this drama, taking place during the McCarthy era, George Clooney plays the part of news anchor Edward R. Murrow, a character previously depicted in the 2005 movie – where Clooney both acted and directed – by David Strathairn.

The stage production, set amidst the McCarthy Era, features George Clooney as news anchor Edward R. Murrow, who was represented in the 2005 film, in which Clooney starred and directed, by actor David Strathairn.

The stage performance had a sneak peek from mid-March and officially debuted in early April, continuing until early June.

On the CBS Mornings show last Thursday, Tony Award-winners Wendell Pierce and Sarah Paulson announced George Clooney’s nomination for Best Lead Actor.

George Clooney’s fellow nominees feature Louis McCartney for Stranger Things: The Untold Story, which is a spin-off from the wildly popular Netflix show, Stranger Things.

In addition to their rivals, they face off against Cole Escola, a multi-talented individual who both stars in and writes the humorous play Oh, Mary!, as well as Daniel Dae Kim from Yellow Face, Harry Lennix, and Jon Michael Hill, all of whom are prominent figures in the Pulitzer Prize-winning production Purpose.

On June 8, the prestigious Tony Awards will be presented live at Radio City Music Hall. The event will be broadcast on television and hosted by none other than Cynthia Erivo, a star from “Wicked” and a previous Tony Award winner herself.

Although George Clooney might win a distinguished award for his performance in Good Night, and Good Luck, it’s his somewhat awkward-looking dark brown hair color for the character that has drawn the most media attention.

Supporters have voiced their dissatisfaction over his recent change to a darker hairstyle and apparent orange-toned tanning, with some confessing that it gives the impression of him aging approximately 20 years.

Others playfully commented that it looked like he had used a “large, permanent marker” on his hair, suggesting he should cleanse his hair color.

Clooney has taken the criticism around his ‘awful’ dye job in stride.

Last month, during his honorary event where his portrait was unveiled at the esteemed Manhattan eatery Sardi’s, which is well-known for its longstanding tradition among Broadway artists, he cracked a joke about it.

The painting of Clooney, where he was shown sporting his iconic salt-and-pepper hair, seemed to bear a stronger resemblance to him compared to how he actually looked during that period.

After taking a look at the drawing, Clooney felt compelled to cracked a joke about his hair.

Clooney playfully commented on the portrait’s hair color, saying, ‘I prefer this shade over my current hair color.’ He then added, ‘Indeed, it’s predominantly grey. Thank you for capturing that so well.’

In a conversation with Gayle King during a CBS Mornings episode in April, Clooney admitted that the color of his dyed hair isn’t great.

King said: ‘I have to take a moment looking at you with the dark hair.’

‘I know it’s not good!’, Clooney interjected.

Gayle added: ‘I didn’t say it wasn’t good!’

Gosh, this isn’t pleasant for me. I’ve never grown accustomed to it, and I don’t think anyone ever does. By the way, I began going grey at 25, so I’ve been mostly grey throughout my life, which isn’t my preferred appearance.

My wife finds it amusing, as do the kids, since they chuckle about his graying locks. To be fair, there’s no denying that sporting a dyed head at 63 can make one appear even older.
