Recent flash floods have caused water damage to the Berkshire homes of celebrities George Clooney and Russell Brand.
Rivers in parts of Berkshire and south Oxfordshire remain saturated after weeks of heavy rainfall.
So far this year, the UK has experienced rain every day, and flood alerts are now in effect for Berkshire county.
Residents in Remenham, where Russell lives, and Wargrave, home to former Strictly Come Dancing star Debbie McGee, have been warned about potential flooding.
George and Amal Clooney’s beautiful home in Sunningdale was flooded when the River Thames overflowed, submerging their tennis court and garden.
A government website has told locals to ‘be prepared’.
Flooding is likely to continue in low-lying areas and on roads around Henley, Remenham, and Medmenham, particularly near Henley itself, over the next few days.
More rain is expected in the next 24 hours. River levels will likely stay high for several days and could rise further with additional rainfall.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m deeply saddened to report that the recent floods have completely devastated George’s beautiful Sonning home. Reports indicate the property, valued between £10 and £12 million, is now completely submerged. It’s a truly heartbreaking situation, and a stark reminder of the power of nature.
This historic home, which is a Grade II listed building, features nine bedrooms, plus leisure facilities including a pool, tennis court, and a cinema seating twelve people. It also boasts a large terrace and a boathouse.
The couple bought the house, nicknamed ‘Castle Clooney,’ in 2014, but didn’t move in until two years later after completing major renovations.
The actor and his wife, who is a human rights lawyer, own multiple properties. These include homes in Los Angeles, a lakeside property in Italy’s Lake Como, and a vineyard estate in Brignoles, France.
Photos reveal flooding around the property Russell bought in 2016 for £3.3 million.
The house is located on a one-acre property with views of the River Thames. The comedian primarily lives in Florida, where he and his wife, Laura Gallacher, moved in 2024 to a home on Santa Rosa Beach.
Debbie’s house suffered even more damage, with pictures showing it almost completely surrounded by floodwater.
In 2024, the performer had to leave her home because flooding from the River Thames caused significant damage, costing thousands of pounds.
A friend shared with Daily Mail that Debbie had been through a really rough patch. Just as she was recovering from January’s flood – which happened so quickly – her home flooded again, setting her back to square one.
Debbie and Paul’s house has flooded repeatedly in recent years, so they installed a pump to protect it. Unfortunately, the pump couldn’t handle the extreme flooding in 2024 and failed.
Debbie, a well-known TV personality, worked alongside magician Paul for many years. They first met in 1979 when she appeared on stage with him at the Britannia Pier Theatre in Great Yarmouth, and they later married in 1988.
Paul died in 2016 aged 77 after he was told that he had an incurable brain tumour.
