Who should you go for between Nicole, Durin, Mauvika, and Lohen in Genshin Impact Version 6.6 banners

The new characters – Nicole, Durin, Mavuika, and Lohen – available in Genshin Impact’s Version 6.6 banner make choosing who to get a tough decision. The best choice depends on what your team currently needs and what you’re planning for in the future. While each character has their own strengths, some will be more helpful right away and in the long run than others.

Here’s a breakdown to help you decide.

1. Nicole

Okay, so I’m super excited about Nicole! She’s the newest 5-star character in Genshin Impact, and she’s a Pyro Catalyst user who’s all about support. What’s really cool is that she can deal some damage herself as a sub-DPS, but she really shines when supporting the team, especially Hexerei teams. Basically, she boosts everyone’s attack, gives a really strong Pyro shield, and can constantly deal Pyro damage even when she’s off-field. Her whole gameplay seems to center around using her Skill and Ultimate, which sounds awesome!

If she’s finished her Witch Homework, her Burst damage gets a huge boost – 300% of Nicole’s ATK! To be ready, check out our Nicole Build Guide for tips.

2. Durin

Durin is a powerful, 5-star Pyro character in Genshin Impact who fights with a sword. He’s a bit different from most supporting damage dealers and characters who boost others; you can build him in two main ways. You can focus on making him a strong, primary damage dealer, or you can prioritize providing buffs to your team, accepting a slight reduction in his own damage output.

He weakens enemies by lowering their elemental resistance by 35% when he’s in his Principle of Purity state. While in his Principle of Darkness state, he significantly boosts his Vaporize and Melt damage by 70%.

3. Mavuika

Mavuika is a powerful 5-star character in Genshin Impact who uses a Claymore and deals Pyro damage. She’s a strong damage dealer (DPS), and her combat style revolves around using her Elemental Skill and Burst. A key part of her gameplay is the Nightsoul mechanic, which lets her unleash incredibly strong attacks and quickly defeat enemies, particularly when she’s built to maximize her fighting spirit.

She performs best when teamed with characters who utilize the Night Soul ability, though this restricts her team choices. However, if you have her dedicated premium team, she can even surpass Nod Krai in terms of damage output.

4. Lohen

Lohen is a powerful 5-Star character in Genshin Impact who uses a polearm and deals Cryo damage. He’s best played as a main damage dealer, especially in teams that focus on creating Melt reactions. Lohen’s unique ability, called ‘Will to Win,’ changes his attacks to Cryo and boosts his overall damage output. If you’re planning to play Lohen, check out our Pre-Farming Guide to get prepared!

Who should you pull in Version 6.6 to make your team future-proof in Genshin Impact

Phase 1

Both Nicole and Durin are strong, versatile characters who will remain useful in the future. They can both fit into many different teams and significantly boost the power of Hexrei characters. If you need a character focused purely on buffing, Nicole is the better choice. However, if you want a character who can buff and also deal a bit more damage, Durin is a good option.

Phase 2

Lohen and Mavuika are both powerful damage dealers. Right now, Mavuika is the stronger choice, especially if you’ve built a strong team around her. However, if you specifically need a character who deals cryo damage, Lohen is a great option.
