The Genshin Impact 6.3 update, called “Song of the Welkin Moon: Postlude – A Traveler On a Winter’s Night,” will be released on January 14, 2026. It expands on the story of Nod-Krai and features the popular Lantern Rite event, along with three new playable characters: Columbina, Zibai, and Illuga, plus other new content.

The newest Archon Quest will see the Traveller teaming up with friends from Mondstadt and other regions to rescue Columbina from Dottore. Plus, players can return to Liyue for the Lantern Rite festival, celebrating the new year with exciting rewards! These include 10 Intertwined Fates, 1,600 Primogems, a free 4-star character from Liyue, and two free character skins, among other goodies.

The story expands in Nod Krai with new mysteries about Dottore

The final showdown is coming in Nod Krai with the start of Act VII of the Archon Quest. After successfully obtaining two moon marrows in the previous chapter, Dottore is moving forward with his experiments. This new chapter will reveal how the Traveler and their companions will confront him in the latest Archon Quest.

Once you finish Act VII of the Archon Quest in Nod Krai, you’ll get 500 Primogems, materials to upgrade Columbina, and a free outfit for your Traveler character.

Nod Krai Map Expansion and Weekly Boss

Genshin Impact’s Version 6.3 update will add more to the Nod Krai area. The next two parts of the main story, Archon Quests Act VII and Act VIII, will be set there. Once those quests are completed, players will be able to battle Dottore in a new weekly boss fight.

Genshin Impact Version 6.3 Luna IV Update: New playable characters and reruns

Columbina: 5-star Hydo Catalyst user

The biggest addition in this update is Columbina, a powerful 5-star Hydro character who supports the team and deals extra damage. She’s designed to work with teams focused on ‘Lunar Reactions’. When Columbina is in your party, she transforms Electro-Charged, Bloom, and Hydro Crystalize reactions – even those triggered by other characters – into Lunar Reactions.

As a huge Genshin fan, I’m so excited about Columbina! From what I understand, she’s basically a Moon Goddess – the one worshipped by the Frostmoon Scions over in Nod-Krai. Apparently, she showed up about 500 years ago on Hiisi Island, and the Scions took her in as their god, calling her Kuutar. I’m already getting ready for her release, and I’ve been checking out a guide to help me farm everything I need beforehand!

Zibai: 5-star Geo Sword user

Zibai is a new 5-star Sword character who primarily deals Geo damage. She’s a main DPS focused on a unique reaction called Lunar Crystallize, which she creates by converting standard Hydro Crystallize reactions.

In the world of Genshin Impact, there’s a mysterious, ancient being from Liyue known as an Adeptus. She’s potentially related to the god Istaroth, has striking golden eyes, and seems to have power over time. Illuga: 4-star Geo Polerem user

Besides Zibai, a new character named Illuga will be joining the game. Illuga is a 4-star Geo character who specializes in boosting the Geo Lunar Crystalise reaction, making him an essential support character to pair with Zibai.

Re-runs

The update will roll out in two parts. First, you’ll have a chance to get Columbina and Ineffa through Event Wishes, and then Zibai and Neuvlitte will be featured in the second half.

Genshin Impact Lantern Rite 2026 and Limited Events Rewards

Genshin Impact’s 2026 Lantern Rite, called “A Lanternlit Ode to the Silver Moon,” is here with new characters to enjoy! Players can celebrate and earn rewards like 1,600 Primogems and 10 Intertwined Fate simply by logging in daily. Completing the Lantern Rite event will also grant a free 4-star character from Liyue, and there’s a new outfit available for Yaoyao.

As a Genshin player, I’m so excited! We’ve got two more events coming up, and each one is giving us a sweet 420 Primogems! Plus, they’re bringing back the Ley Line Overflow, which means double the Mora, character level-up materials, and experience points – perfect for boosting my characters!

New Characters Outfits

Neuvillette Skin

After the 6.3 update, Neuvillette will get a new 4-star skin in Genshin Impact. It will be sold in the shop for a limited time at a reduced price.

Yaoyao Skin

Okay, so good news for Yaoyao fans! She’s getting a 4-star skin in Genshin Impact, and it’s totally free! But there’s a catch – you’ll need to play through the Lantern Rite event to unlock it. I’m definitely gonna grind that event out to get it!

Aether and Lumine Skin

After completing Version 6.3 Archon Quests, you can get this skin for free.
