This guide will show you strategies to defeat the bosses and claim these rewards.

Genshin Impact 6.2 Stygian Onslaught Guide: Boss Mechanism

You need to understand how each boss works to beat them. Simply having great gear won’t be enough – you have to learn their patterns and weaknesses.

1. Iniquitous Baptist Boss Mechanism

Iniquitous Baptist is a boss found in the Sumeru Desert. The fight begins with the boss creating three different elemental pillars that you need to quickly destroy. If you fail to destroy them within the time limit, the boss will gain a shield powered by those same elements.

This boss usually creates shields that are resistant to Cryo, Hydro, Electro, and Pyro attacks. However, during the Stygian Onslaught event, it will only generate Hydro, Electro, and Pyro shields. To break the Hydro shield, use Cryo or Dendro attacks. The Electro shield is also weak to Cryo or Dendro. Finally, use Hydro attacks to destroy the Pyro shields. Once all shields are down, you can then effectively attack the boss with your main damage-dealing characters.

2. Battle Hardened Iktomisaurus Boss Mechanism

Iktomisaurus is a well-known boss in Natlan. It’s much simpler to fight than the Iniquitous Baptist Boss. Players using melee characters will struggle, as Iktomisaurus creates a Cryo shield while flying. You’ll need to quickly break this shield using long-range Pyro attacks.

If you destroy the boss’s shield quickly enough, it will be knocked down, taking significant damage from the fall and becoming stunned briefly. However, if you fail to break the shield in time, the boss will unleash a powerful area-of-effect attack that will instantly defeat your active character.

3. Experimental Field Generator Boss Mechanism

The Experimental Field Generator is a boss found in the Fontaine region. It creates an area with reduced gravity, allowing all characters to perform a plunging attack simply by jumping. Once they reach a certain height, characters receive a significant 600% attack boost that lasts for 1.5 seconds.

This boss attacks with fast-moving projectiles that can instantly defeat your characters. You can avoid these attacks by jumping or running. The Experimental Field Generator boss also creates ground waves that push your characters back and cause damage, but these can also be avoided by jumping.

Best Teams for Genshin Impact 6.2 Stygian Onslaught mode

Here, we’ll cover which teams work best against each boss and briefly explain how to use your character to counter the boss’s attacks. If you’re not familiar with what each character does in a team, you can find that information on our website.

1. Iniquitous Baptist

TeamsCharacter 1Character 2Character 3Character 4
Nefer PremiumTeamNeferLaumaNahida/YelanAino
Skirk Premium TeamSkirkEscoffierYelan/ShenheFurina

1. Nefer Premium Team

The Nefer Premium team is incredibly strong, so we’ll use the same strategy when fighting the bosses. Use Nefer and Lauma to break the bosses’ Hydro and Electro shields. Then, use Yelan or Aino to apply Hydro and destroy Pyro shields and the Pillars.

2. Skirk Premium Team

Okay, so Skirk’s team is seriously strong against this boss! The key is to use the Cryo attack to shatter the Electro shield, then switch to Hydro to break the Pyro shield. Once those are down, just stick to the usual team rotation and you should be good to go. It’s really that simple!

2. Battle Hardened Iktomisaurus

1. Pyro Swirl Team

Okay, so I’ve figured out the best way to beat this boss! You really want to start with Durin’s Burst, then as soon as the boss floats up, hit them with Venti’s Burst. That creates a Pyro Swirl that melts through their Cryo shield super quickly. After that, just stick to your usual team rotation and you should be good to go!

2. Chasca Team

Okay, so as a tip for this fight, I’ve found that using either Durin’s Burst or Mauvika’s skill first is key. Then, quickly use Chasca and fly right at the boss! Using Mauvika’s skill after that will shatter its Cryo shield. After the shield breaks, just stick to your usual Chasca rotation and you’re good to go!

3. Jean Fall Damage Team

The key players for this strategy are Jean and Amber. When the boss begins to float or creates a Cryo shield, use Jean’s Burst. Then, use Amber’s Burst to break the shield, followed by Bennett’s Burst. This will stun the boss, allowing you to continuously deal damage with Jean’s hold skill until the stun wears off.

Follow this same rotation when the boss creates its shield.

3. Experimental Field Generator

Diluc Premium TeamDilucXianyunCitlaliBennett

Varesa Overload Team, Xiao Premium Team, and Diluc Premium Team

This boss is pretty straightforward – you just need to dodge its attacks, which are mostly projectiles and waves that sweep across the ground. Stick to your team’s planned strategy, and you should be able to beat it without much trouble.
