1. Durin

Durin is a Dragon character from the world of Simulanka, inspired by the original Durin and created by the witch Andersdotter of the Hexenzirkel. He’s unique among Support Damage (DPS) and buffer characters because he can be played in two different ways. You can focus on maximizing his damage output, or you can prioritize providing buffs to your team, though this will reduce his personal damage.

  • Principle of Purity: It’s Durin’s first form, the Principle of Purity. In this state, Durin reduces enemy resistance by 20%. If your team has Hexerei characters, then you will get 35% res shrewd because of their passive talent.
  • Principle of Darkness: It’s Durin’s second form, the Principle of Darkness. In this state, Durin can’t reduce enemy resistance but deals more serious damage than in his first state. If your team has Hexerei characters, then their vaporise and melt damage increases by 40%. Durin’s damage and buff both multiply when you use Durin with Hexerei characters. You can use him in multiple teams. He also has multiple artifact options and weapon options, which make him a flexible unit in every aspect.

2. Venti

Venti is a powerful 5-star character who uses a bow and the Anemo element. He excels at controlling groups of enemies, quickly regaining energy, and creating powerful Swirl reactions. He’s getting even stronger with an update coming in Version 6.2!

Once you’ve used Venti’s Elemental Burst, his next normal attack will deal elemental damage, similar to a main damage dealer. While Venti will gain a damage boost, don’t expect his damage output to be as high as dedicated DPS characters from regions like Natlan or those comparable to Nod Krai DPS – manage your expectations accordingly.

Why you should go for Durin or Venti in Genshin Impact Version 6.2

1. Team Options

Venti is a decent support character who can fit into many teams, but his main contribution without the 4-piece Viridescent Venerer artifact set is simply generating energy for his teammates. Durin, on the other hand, doesn’t rely on this artifact to boost the team and deals significantly more damage than Venti. This means Durin offers more flexibility when building a team compared to Venti.

2. Builds

Okay, so building Venti is actually pretty straightforward, especially if you’re using him as a support character. I just slapped a full 4-piece Viridescent Venerer artifact set on him, made sure his bow was leveled to 90 with an Energy Recharge main stat, and boom – done! Now, Durin is a bit different. He can support, yeah, but he also does some serious damage, so I had to go for a crit build on him. Honestly, getting Venti ready to go was way easier than building Durin.

3. Future Proof

If you’re looking for a character who will remain useful for a long time, Durin is a great choice. He already boosts the abilities of many characters, and based on current information, both Varka and Alice will use the Hexerei element. This means Durin will likely be able to support them as well, making him a valuable addition to your team for the foreseeable future.
