Genshin Impact Version 6.2 Luna III update brings two new characters, winter events, and more

Genshin Impact’s Version 6.2 update, called “Song of the Welkin Moon: Interlude – A Nocturne of the Far North,” will be released on December 3, 2025. The update expands on the story of Nod-Krai, introduces the Moon-Prayer Night festival, and features a new playable character named Durin, along with several events and other additions.

The story expands in Nod Krai with new celebrations and mysteries

After the defeat of Rächer of Solnari, Nasha Town is once again bustling with life and the joyous spirit of Moon Prayer Night. Visitors can enjoy festival games, browse stalls, and collect keepsakes in a special stamp book. However, the festive atmosphere doesn’t last long, as members of Hexenzirkel soon arrive.

Okay, so I just saw the latest news and it’s a bit worrying! Alice and Nicole Reeyn showed up with a warning that things are getting unstable at Teyvat’s borders. Apparently, weird phantoms are popping up all over Nod Krai, and we’re being asked to investigate what’s going on. Thankfully, we’ll be teaming up with Albedo, Durin, and the Wanderer to figure it out. The best part? Hoyoverse is giving us 500 Primogems just for finishing this Archon Quest! Definitely worth checking out.

Genshin Impact Version 6.2 Luna III Update: New playable characters and reruns

Durin: 5-star Pyro Sword

This update introduces Durin, a powerful 5-star Pyro Sword character with a unique ability: he can switch between two different fighting styles. Originally a dragon from Simulanka, Durin now inhabits a body created by Albedo’s alchemy, giving him a combination of draconic and human strengths.

He excels at both area-of-effect Pyro damage, supporting the team, and dealing massive damage to single enemies. He also boosts Vaporize and Melt reaction damage. To discover more about his backstory and relationship with Hexenzirkel, complete his Story Quests, which will also reward you with a unique item.

Johoda: 4-star Anemo Bow User

Joining Durin, Johoda, a 4-star Anemo character who uses a bow, will be available soon. She can both heal teammates and increase damage output by utilizing Elemental absorption.

Re-runs 

The update will roll out in two parts. First, players can look forward to Durin and Jahoda, along with the popular character Venti. Later, Varesa and Xilonen will be added.

Transform your favorite characters into Hexerei characters to receive powerful new upgrades

This update improves several characters connected to the Hexenzirkel. Once the update is released, you’ll be able to transform characters like Durin, Venti, Klee, Albedo, Mona, Razor, Fischl, and Sucrose into Hexerei versions. This transformation unlocks new skills and Constellation effects by completing Alice’s Witch’s Homework.

Adding two Hexerei characters to your team activates the Hexerei: SecretRite effect, increasing your team’s overall combat strength. As an example, if you frequently play as Venti, you’ll be able to use Windsunder Arrows while his Stormeye is active.

Winter events and creative tools round out the update

I’m so excited to head back to Dragonspine! They’re bringing back the Soulblazers’ Snowbound Journey event, and it sounds like there will be a bunch of fun winter minigames to play. Best of all, we can earn rewards like the exclusive 4-star Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow weapon, plus Primogems and other goodies. Can’t wait!

Plus, you can look forward to new story scenes and conversations with the Dameselette in Silvermoon Hall, located in Nod Krai. There’s even more – the Envisage Echoes challenges are expanding with new echoes featuring Klee and Albedo as rewards.

Players who enjoy creating content in Miliastra Wonderland will be happy to hear about the new Wonderland Resource Center. This feature lets you easily share and get resources using the in-game editing tools. Version Luna III also includes extra rewards like new animations, expressions, and free item draws. Plus, you can customize your game with a special winter-themed Main Hall!
