Genshin Impact Version 6.2 Luna III update brings two new characters, winter events, and more

The next update for Genshin Impact, Version Luna III, called “Song of the Welkin Moon: Interlude – A Nocturne of the Far North,” will be released on December 3, 2025. This update expands on the story of Nod-Krai, introduces the Moon-Prayer Night festival, and features a new playable character named Durin, along with several events and other additions.

The story expands in Nod Krai with new celebrations and mysteries

After the defeat of Rächer of Solnari, Nasha Town is revitalized and celebrates Moon Prayer Night with a lively festival. Visitors can enjoy booths, participate in games, and collect stamps as keepsakes. However, the festive atmosphere doesn’t last long when members of Hexenzirkel arrive.

Alice and Nicole Reeyn have announced that Teyvat’s borders are becoming unstable. At the same time, mysterious phantoms are appearing in Nod Krai, and you’ll need to team up with Albedo, Durin, and the Wanderer to find out what’s causing them. Completing this Archon Quest will reward you with 500 Primogems.

Genshin Impact Version Luna III Update: New playable characters and reruns

Durin: 5-star Pyro Sword

This update introduces Durin, a powerful 5-star character who wields a Pyro Sword and can switch between two different fighting styles. Originally a dragon from Simulanka, Durin now possesses a human body created by Albedo’s alchemy, giving him a unique combination of abilities.

He excels at both area-of-effect Pyro damage, providing support to the team, and dealing massive damage to single enemies. His abilities also significantly boost Vaporize and Melt reaction damage. You can discover more about his backstory and his ties to Hexenzirkel by completing his Story Quests, which also unlock exclusive rewards.

Johoda: 4-star Anemo Bow User

Johoda, a 4-star Anemo character who uses a bow, is coming alongside Durin. She can both heal teammates and increase damage output by utilizing Elemental absorption.

Re-runs 

The update will roll out in two parts. First, players can look forward to Durin and Jahoda, along with the popular character Venti. Later, Varesa and Xilonen will be added.

Transform your favorite characters into Hexerei characters to receive powerful new upgrades

This update improves several characters connected to the Hexenzirkel. Once the update is released, you’ll be able to transform characters like Durin, Venti, Klee, Albedo, Mona, Razor, Fischl, and Sucrose into Hexerei characters. This will unlock new abilities and Constellation effects by completing Alice’s Witch’s Homework.

Adding two Hexerei characters to your team activates the Hexerei: SecretRite effect, boosting your team’s strength. For example, if you frequently play as Venti, you’ll be able to use Windsunder Arrows while his Stormeye is active.

Winter events and creative tools round out the update

Okay, so I’m excited to head back to Dragonspine! They’re bringing back the Soulblazers’ Snowbound Journey event, and it sounds like there’ll be a bunch of fun winter minigames to play. The best part? We can earn some awesome rewards, including a special 4-star weapon called the Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow, plus the usual Primogems and goodies.

Plus, you can look forward to new scenes and conversations with the Damsellette in Silvermoon Hall, which is located in Nod Krai. There’s even more content with expanded Envisage Echoes challenges – now you can earn rewards based on Klee and Albedo.

Fans of the UGC gameplay module, Miliastra Wonderland, will be happy to hear it’s getting a new Wonderland Resource Center. This feature lets you easily share and get resources using the editing tools. Update Luna III also includes extra rewards like new animations, expressions, and free chances to win items. Plus, you can customize your game with a special winter-themed Main Hall!
